You're joking right? It's an ongoing investigation whose outcome is yet to be determined. You'd hardly be happy if a yet to be proven allegation against a Rovers player was made public for all to read.

The player has already been accused of Racism, if the player denies it was a racist comment or alleges himself that it was not of a racist nature. What both are claiming should be revealed. Its at the centre of the issue. He should be able to say I didnt say that i said this. The rovers player cant defend himself publicly, yet can be called a racist in public.

He has defended himself publicly, he's denied it. If you're worried about the player's reputation, it'd be more damaged by full public disclosure of the accusation.

Couldn't tell ye. Mistake? Post-match anger? FAI encouraged it? Kenny loves a microphone? All of the above? As said before don't think it matters, since story would've broke fairly quickly one way or the other anyway. What can be kept close, however, is the full details of the investigation and I can't think of a single reason why any Rovers fan would want it made public.

An unspecified player has been called a racist in public. If the FAI decides not to take action his name will not be released. I really don't see how putting his name all over the news is going to help him.

Should we all be racists now?

Only I spend the whole day working and I'm quite tired by the time I get home and just like to have a cup of tea, so I'm not sure I can devote myself fully to the old racism.

No need to put his name anywhere I agree CD, but the club could put the players side forward defending him and in turn defending the club. Leading to a more balanced covering of the incident.

Presumably the club are putting their defence case in the investigation, in the same way DCFC are likely putting their case in the investigation (as opposed to in public). The only thing made public is the accusation and denial - I think that's balanced. But if you feel aggrieved, and the player's innocent, just think of all the unbalanced flak Derry and Zayed will get if Rovers and player are exonerated.

Now when its finished will there be countless pages in the papers, coverage on the 6.1 news, radio interviews saying by the way no one was found guilty of Rascim, of course not. It will be well he was racially abused but they couldnt prove it.

The insinuation being made here is that the gypoweb was homophobic as a result of a couple of ill advised posts. I just want to point out that the posts were deleted and the poster reprimanded by posters and moderators for his comments.

So? It works both ways. Just as valid to speculate, in that scenario, Zayed and Derry being totally furious at a case of racial abuse going unpunished. Maybe you should wait for an actual outcome before playing the victim.
