Great victory for abbeyfeale away from home who now play at home in the next round..great back to back victories for adare. Good win last week against rathkeale and askeaton today..it's gonna be tough relegation battle
Ya I agree with you nunugget.poor decisions by the ref today.never left advantage after a player was fouled and had a good opportunity if it was left play on but blew the whistle after few seconds ad booked the player...he should have left it play on and then book the player..the field was very very bad..how teams play on those types of fields I'll never know but there are worse fields in the league

Shannonside V Ncw was a good game given the conditions, I'd agree with previous posts that the referee & pitch were poor.Good result for Shannonside though NCW really needed to win. Great win in Cork for Abbey, great to have a Desmond league team in the latter stages of the Munster Junior.
Good win for Abbey. Ballingarry are all but promoted from div 1 too. Interesting relegation battle starting to develop in the premier. It would be a fair shock to see Rathkeale go down. But their league form is terrible and others like Adare have really picked up. Has the makings of a geat battle down there

Was also at NCW-Shannonside game, good game under the conditions. Agree that pitch was in poor state along with some poor referring decisions. Shannonside should have been awarded goal in 1st half where NCW keeper half-fumbled the ball, & the ball appeared to be behind the line when he recovered it. Had the ref been in a better position I'm sure he would have awarded it as it clearly looked behind the line. Either team could have knicked it in last 10 mins - Shannonside had great effort which hit crossbar & few mins later their goalkeeper made great save to deny NCW. Overall think a draw was fair result. Looks like a very exciting run-in, which will be a 3 horse race between Shannonside,NCW, & Abbeyfeale. From looking at all teams I think Abbeyfeale will take the honours.
Underage structure for schoolboys leagues is changing next year. This will have a major effect on the youths . Basically a youth player that played his first season youths this year will be overage next year, I wonder will the league act on this otherwise 17 year olds will go straight on to junior soccer
sorry blue and white I might have explained it wrong,if you read the county schoolboy notes in the observer you might get a grasp of it, its hard enuf to explain, but every underage player will skip a year for example if your u11 this year your u13 next season so u17 players this season will move to u19. I know its confusing ?
But what about the players who would still be a youth player by the old format, are they left to play seniors only?
Could anyone confirm that the last 16 draw for the Desmond cup has been made and if so whats the draw
Yes the Desmond cup has been made..heard last night at training we ncw got broadford at home in 3rd round if we beat st itas..didn't hear other fixtures tho
Was the full draw listed in the Observer today? anyone know the other fixtures?

I reckon the quarter finals will be between
Adare,Askeaton,Abbey,Shannonside,NCW,Rathkeale,Kil dimo,Ballingarry.
I hope im wrong and we get plenty of upsets both in this round and the next!
the title race in the prem is hotting up with Abbey, shannonside and now NCW, id fancy shannonside.
Adare's recent good run would make you worry about Rathkeale,Glin and Killeaney in terms of relegation.
I have always considered both Glin and Rathkeale to be "Regular" Premier teams and it would be strange to have them in div1 next year.
2nd place in div1 is also up for grabs with 5 teams competing to join ballingarry in the prem next year.
Just looking at the comments above in relation to Shannonside V NCW.
Not too sure I was watching the same game, Could not believe that Shannonside are unbeaten and that NCW are also in the running to win this PREMIER league, Standard is Brutal. if thats is the best the Premier Div has I would hate to look at a game down the divisions. As Far as the Referee was concerned I thought he did well considering the whinging that was going on from the Baldy fella at the back for NCW.He eventually got fed up listening to him and gave him a Yellow. For the one that people seem to think was over the line the keeper for Shannonside had a go at him about that one and he was only 100 yards away, sure he was bound to see it. Why do the clubs not pay for Linesmen like in some other leagues around the Country, and then they might have an argument about the positioning thing.
Glin look to be in big trouble alright, but I think Rathkeale are still are very strong and should stay up no hassle, they were unlucky enough last Sunday against Broadford even though they were missing a good few. Killeaney and Broadford could be in real trouble though. I agree that Adare's recent good run should be enough. Shannonside are in a good position after last weeks result
