Consistently brutal if you ask me. That referee lacks the basic ingredient of good refereeing i.e. common sense. He definitely doesn't believe in grey areas as everyting is black and white with him.

Common sense from refs is lacking at all levels of football. the ref in question here, is a league of ireland ref, which tells us a lot- still its tough job which few of us would do

Roberto- you said you knew Muiris Walsh quite well and you announced his depature on this site, have you spoken to him or do you know the real reason

Talking about the Tipp semi cup final, I am not making excuses for Saints or anything, I think Celtic wanted to win the game more than Saints. Hope they win out Tipp Cup Final. They are a good hard working outfit. I just want to make the point, talking about referees, game should have at least gone to extra time on Saturday night, because Saints equalised just at the end, 2.2 and Paddy Keane decided from where he was standing that a player was offside. We saw the goal, it was perfect, lines man (who was having a nightmare with decisions up to then), was gone back up the field for the re-start, so he didnt think it was off side, how in the name of god, Paddy decided the goal was offside, was beyond me and everyone else standing around. Good luck to Celtic in the final, I have to say, it was a good clean game, hard fought, it always is between Celtic and Saints, good to see another strong hold come out of Clonmel.

Thats a tough break but it happens. Look, Celtic had what looked like a good goal disallowed against Town in Munster junior Cup. Sadly these things happen-its not right but it happens

Very true, still it was good to see the Tipp Cup being played as hard fought as it was, it wasnt demeanoured in any way by either team, It is still silver ware at the end of the season.

I'd have to agree with you there. I was a bit surprised (and relieved) when the goal was ruled out. I can't understand the linesman though who was in a better position to spot the offside. In situations like this I can't understand why referees can't consult with their linesman before they make calls like this.

To be honest I thought Celtic deserved the win on their second half performance and the effort they put in for the 90 minutes.

Of course, we would have been relieved if Celtic had a goal disallowed too, The linesman was calling Paddy to say the goal was not offside, but sure, Paddy being Paddy, decided it was and told everybody to get on with it. To be fair to Paddy on the other hand, he played nearly 8 minutes over time, which was enough time for Saints to equalise but sure that didnt happen!!!

8 Mins added time at the end of a 45 mins half........game must have been held up for a long time, did something happen, a serious injury or something??

ah no, nothing serious happened at all. Celtic made a few changes and there was a few minor injuries but may be Paddy thought Saints might equalise again after he incorrectly disallowed a goal!!! dont really know.

    well said Roberto!!!!!!

you hit the nail on the head, refereeing is all about common sense, he and one or two others dont seem to have any, interesting to see that most of them never kicked a football in their life, they dont understand the game really

    few points to note here.......

Clonmel Town are not in any sort of dissarray at the moment, the players who are the most import entity here are in great spirits and are looking forward to a MJC Final and an FAI Semi, anyone who thinks that because of yesterdays flat display against Peake Villa is anything to judge Town by is seriously talking through their behind. Lot of lads were minding themselves for the bigger times ahead, and could you blame them? You can bet your life in 2 weeks time when they face probably St Michaels in the FAI Semi that they will have all guns blazing with or without Aaron or Smurf, and i do expect both players to be playing for the record.

Also on the Muiris Walsh issue, i know what went on and ive stated it here on this forum, please drop it now cause its getting quite boring, for those of you who missed it, read back on previous posts, no one is irreplaceable and if he wishes to stand down thats his decision, he wont be chased to come back but im sure he would be welcome back to the club if he changes his mind

Yes it is getting boring. As I said I am sorry to see him go. However I think it is very bad form that he would go and potentially cause such disruption at this crucial and vital stage of the season. As you say the club won’t chase him and why should they. The club has done nothing wrong. He was only the PRO, a good one but it’s not that big a job. Yes he has been very good for the club but what he has done isn’t right. Maybe he wanted the club to run after him and stroke his ego, I don’t know. Why couldn't he have waited till the season ended.
It’s not as if Ray Condon or the manager quit!! Anyway, let’s move on. Clonmel Town FC is far bigger than him. Thats my final word on Mr Walsh

If the Pike v Michaels saga is over Wed, will the semi final be played Sunday or would that be too soon. Also, isn’t there an outstanding FAI Senior Cup match to be played?
