I thought he was very good when he was left alone and not badgered into decisions by people on the sidelines.
Unfortunatly that can be said for all refs - too many times they dont seem to be able to make their own decisions - with the exception of a few

]In theory based on weather yes - ask the mayo league why they reverted to winter football. The summer soccer nearly ruined their league, however it might suit CL. Who knows
A balanced debate is required before any decision.
Personally as an auld fella with dodgy knees, summer football would finish my career. Me auld knees love the soft turf in the winter, so they do[/QUOTE]
THE TRUTH
I am not trying to get involved in your summer football debate, but i was just browsing through the Clare league thread and i know its 4 months late, but i have been involved in
Mayo soccer for 21 years and have seen both Winter and Summer soccer. I dont know where you got your imformation from because its false no one has the stomach for going back to Winter league soccer. Last winter their was a tournement organised for the over 35's called the masters league which was played on the Astro Turf in Milebush in Castlebar. With summer soccer Westport, Castlebar and Erris have all won national competations.
Indeed...Big Dad is moving on . CV's have been arriving into the office since Monday morning when the news broke. Currently lots of names are being touted around but nothing concrete.
I can assure you this will be a matter taken very seriously by the board. A disappointing season had and one the owners and chairman want to forget.
Being at the end of an illustrious career with Rovers I would like to put my name forward - Bunratty have always pleased me with the way they play - i'd have some good ideas both coaching and training - i can see alot of players moving on and would be bringing in some new faces - my coaching team would be made up of some very experienced former players - where do i send my cv ?

A balanced debate??Maybe afew correct facts also.Mayo have not reverted to winter football.Ask your own schoolboy league about it and what happened at their AGM this year when a return to winter was proposed!!

Whacker cannot be replaced - with a seasoned head on him now and reaching the heights that he has in his short career , so far winning the CDSL - having a great run in the FAI / MJ and pulling the Rovers from near relaguation last season to being the best in the Parish this season not to mention before he joined us he had Olympic pulled from the 1st division - what a manager - - hopefully he'll be around next season and can improve - but only he can answer this task !!

Don't count your chickens before they hatch Planners! currently the Rovers lie 4th in the league with 1 game remaining so still a bit to go.
2nd Bunratty 17 +8 28
3rd Newmarket Celtic 16 +11 27
4th Rineanna Rovers 17 +5 27
Best of luck to the Oscar Traynor's in Cork at the weekend, would be great to get to the final again and have it at Digifone.
