lads any player or supporter on here from limerick and are talking s*** about pike rovers would want to go away and get there head examined and start backing the local side and put aside all the jealousy they have for pike.we are all jealous of pike and the bigger clubs for one reason or another but at the end of the day they are a limerick team representing pike and limerick in an fai competition.hope pike go on to next stage of appeal and win it.

Lads i'm not in anyones corner but i am miffed about a couple of things. Pike got a letter stating Colm could play in the quarter final against Michael's so did they feel they needed it to prove he was in the clear or what. Next thing is St Michael's lost the game to a team who in the eyes of the junior council was legit seeing as this player was now clear so how in the hell are they geting back into the competition, they lost fair and square and it relates to games Colm had played earlier in the competition so in my eyes St Michael's should do the dignified thing and withdraw from the competition. As for Pike, we all know what is going on up there in relation to a few lads getting expense, so what, good luck to them if they are travelling in for training from long distances and it seems the senior council think they are acting in a professional manner but the FAI have no more proof than any other of us. They are going on hear say. I think Pike won through with the squad they signed at the start of the seaon and every one of us knew who was signed so its not like they transferred Colm in just for one game and cheated in a blatant manner. I'm sure like the rest of us JUNIOR players Colm just wants to play ball and compete for big trophies, don't know him but its not nice for someone to be hung out as an excuse when he did nothing wrong.
As Goals4Fun says and he is right the FAI are a disgrace, they never release statements to explain anything, their rules are very ambiguous and they are not there for the good of football, they are living in the distant past with their dinosaur members and they need a reality check.
For what its worth as a Limerick man i wish Pike the bet in whatever avenue they decide to go down and even though the competition is tarnished this season, i still hope the best team wins it
The F.A.I are an absolute joke of an organisation. St.Michaels are after opening a can of worms with this appeal and it doesn't surprise me one bit with the ruling considering those clowns Tom Lewis and Delaney are pulling the strings. As much as I would love to see Pike go through, I'm not sure it will happen considering how much of a raw deal Carew Park got a few years back. I don't think Aisling will try to get reinstated, even if Pike are removed, as some clubs still have a bit of dignity. St.Michaels had no right to appeal a decision for a game which did not concern them and they have lost alot of respect to get back into a competition that they won't win anyway.
Roy Keane was correct about the FAI - MUPPETS!! The FAI cup has lost its prestige and class as a the biggest club competition in Europe simply becase the FAI themselves cannot relay to each club the rules of competition. I think they need to bring back a rule which prevents players from leaving senior set-ups and going directly into a junior team,maybe a 3 or 6 month period where the player does not play?? This could maybe prevent a junior club trying to build a team for the FAI cup as soon as the Senior domestic season finishes in February which is just when the Junior season begins to hit the business end.??
What round did the illegal player play in? And if Pike are thrown out why let Michaels into the semi, cant the team Pike beat to get to the quarters be reinstated to play Michaels in the quarters?
I doubt this has anything much to do with Delaney or Tom Lewis. The senior council apparently made it clear to more than one interested party that it wouldn't be right having what they consider a LOI Senior side winning their prestigious Junior Cup, and were prepared to try and stop them by any means possible. Any co-incidence then that Mike O'Brien, a Limerick man who played with St Michaels and is heavily involved in the FAI junior scene as head scout for Gerry Smith, starts taking an interest in the registration of Pike Rovers players and enlists the help and advice of his pal, the pet shop boy, who gets a lot of his information on LOI issues from his pal, the butcher.
The one clear thing in all of this is that Saint Micheals should not be in the competition, whatever about Pike. Maybe Pike deserve to be kicked out too, but in fairness to them they got bum advice from the LDMC....Was it a conspiracy all along I wonder? Call Mulder and Scully. All this is going to do is destroy whatever integrity this competition had left. It woold take at least 6-8 weeks for this to go to arbitration I presume, by which time the Senior Cup will also be affected.

Pike have(or should have) 10 days from special rulings to appeal the decision from the date of issue, so 10 days from Tuesday 13th. I'd imagine they'll call some sort of EGM over the week I'd imagine and decide the best avenue to follow. I hope they take this to arbitration. However it'll cost them an awful lot of money, especially for a Junior club. This entire fiasco has left a bad taste in my mouth regards the FAI.
As a Limerick man I wish Pike Rovers the very best of luck however they wish to proceed. It'd be fantastic to see the 2 best sides in junior soccer at the moment(Fairview and Pike) battle out an FAI cup final in Jackman park.
In reply to the above, Pike would have done exactly the same if shoe was on the other foot, why is everyone vilifying Saint Michaels when all they did was take an avenue that was open to them, they were fully entitled to do so as already said, the player involved scored against Saints. It is not Saint's problem that this happened to come to the fore when they played Pike. People are mentioning names from Limerick who are close to Saints. This is totaly rubbish. Saints found out about this fair and square (just like Pike did a few years ago) and Pike had no pity for Town when they got them thrown out of Munster Junior Cup a few years. As you say, it's all Karma. No Club in this Country should be especially put together to try and win an FAI Cup, how are smaller Clubs in the towns and villages expected to play against the like of Pike Rovers when they dont play fair! St. Michaels are through fair and square and have a right to try and win it, anyone who says different are just jealous or two faced if they are involved with Pike when they appealed against Town some time back, Get on with it! Pike can take it all they like to Arbitration but the result will stay the same, They even got fined! They were totally wrong and the FAI Junior Council should have taken the correct stand from day one!
Have to say even as a Fairview man all i can do is feel sorry for Pike.I have numerous old good friends up there who put in a lot of hard work behind the scenes and they are just gutted about what has gone on.I really dont get all this hatred of Pike - yes they have a few loud mouth idiots following(what club doesnt) them that probably tarnish the reputation of the rest of the club but the majority of them are sound honest lads.
As regards arbitration i feel its probably a lost cause - cant see the FAI senior councul putting themselves in the position where its possible there decision could be overturned and i also believe its unhread of for 1 of there decisions to be over ruled.
Pike wern't so embarrassed to take part in the Munster Junior Cup after appealing against CLonmel Town a few years back, dont be so hypocritical! that is a ridiculous statement to make
I'm sure Pike Rovers committee and members will continue the matter in the best way possible(for them). It'd be a horrible thing for them to look back on in years to come and say they should have took the matter as far as it can go after accepting the decision. Only time will tell I suppose.

How am I moving attention from myself? What the hell have I got to do with any of this? What I was saying is that the senior council of the FAI are annoyed that there are so many recent ex LOI players in Pikes squad and this could be why they have come down so heavy on them.
Read my post again...you'll see I'm quite supportive of Pike.
