Surely thats an awful advantage to be playing teams late on with nothing to play for and only fielding half teams that aren't training ??
I see what you are saying alright it seems odd that they are being allowed to develop such a gap in games from the rest of the teams around them.
It would have to be said it cant be due to commintment to cup competions as Kildimo were in Munster junior last 16.
I think it kinda irrelvant do because as i said earlier on in preview of Adare v Old mill the weekend.
Killeaney have to play Old Mill twice
    Kildimo once
    Adare once
There four games that will define there season and there is no doubt that this division one race will go right down to the wire (even if kileaney arnt done until the middle of june).
I cant see any of them causing much of a substansive test in the premier when they go up next year.

There are lots of factors why teams fall behind others. Killeaney lost a home game a few weeks back due to snow when other games went ahead, I think Athea went the same way that day. Killeaney also had 3 games in the Reidy cup and 1 in the Desmond. PJ Hogan has only so many refs available to him on any Sunday, some not available, the Ladies league and only last Sunday there were two teams of 3 doing FAI games in Killarney and Limerick, so I don't think there's a whole lot that can be done without more refs. Killeaney will have a busy time of it for the rest of the season and I,m a firm believer that points in the bag are much better than games in hand. Let,s hope Div.1 goes all the way, last year was a yawn with Shannonside and Askeaton. What about Div.2? Kilcolman v Pallas this weekend and Rathkeale B with a lot of games in hand and like Killeaney with a cup match overdue. Kilcolman are flying it with their GAA players available for the next month or so, they will be looking to get as many points in while they're playing. On the other hand Pallas are playing some good football and are hard to beat. Maybe a draw but I'd go for home win.

I would rather have points on the board than games in hand.

Ah well every team deserves weekends off for occasions like theses, you can hardly expect them field a team.

Some teams will have to wait for Killeaney to catch up which could leave them without games for a long period. Is it not the case that all teams play their last 2 games on the same day. Definite advantage to the team playing every week I'd say.

Welcome to the forum Yorkshire rose.
No I actually can't see a long waiting period what id say will happen when the evenings get brighter is that kileaney will be fixtured for Friday night games and Sunday games which surely will be of no advantage to them only having a 2 day turn around period.
But someone has to pose the question how can a team only manage to play 1 game in the league in 2010 and it kind be all put down to bad weather they have an good field below in knockdown

Cups most probably, how many games have they actually had this year? They seemed to be down to play every week. All these league cups, reidy cups, desmond cups etc... all seem to come together at this time. They should go back to playing the league cup at the start of the season and get it out of the way, or at least keep it away from this time of year. If you are in a division below the premier you are involved an at least one more competition, so thats 6...any more?

Killeaney are in five different competitions – the division 1 league, division 1 league cup, desmond cup, reidy cup (they were knocked out here at the quarter final stage) and munster junior (they were knocked out of this in second round)

If you look at any team that go on to win league's in any division or at any level they dont win 4 and 5 nil every week. Broadford was always going to be a very tough game and Rathkeale knew that one goal would do as we have only 8 goals conceded in 11 matches. It was a shame really that John Lynch got sent off because it would have been a more free flowing game. What was Lynch thinking anyway THE 1?

League Cup was a great way to warm up for the new season for many clubs when played before the League actually started. I remember when this was a two legged competition.

I always thought that John Lynch was a hard but fair player and not a red card candidate, what did he do?

He got sent off for two deliberate handballs within a five minute period. By all accounts the second yellow was harsh enough, was it Sky Blue
