good result tonite Leedspk, just shows how open our league is.
Welcome Mr Vers, yea looking forward to tomoro. Down 2 players but we have a good squad so they will slot in nicely. How bout ye ?.....should be a good game as we both need the points.
good result tonite Leedspk, just shows how open our league is.
Killowen 1, Casement Celtic 2.
Tight enough game, but Casement shaded it as they took their chances and were very organised when not in possession. We started well enough and hit the woodwork twice in the 1st half, but a lack of concentration allowed Casement room in the area to create an opening to go 1 up towards the end of the half. We had it all to do in the second period as a miscued clearance by our keeper resulted in the second goal, although credit must go to the Casement player for a well executed lob. We pulled a goal back midway through the 2nd half and piled on the pressure, but unfortunately couldn't break them down.
Plenty if's and but's in the Killowen dressing room afterwards but it's Casement who progress.
Barry Peelo was in attendance so ye can read all about it in the Echo and in Tuesday's Daily Star.

Greenmount 0 - 0 Blackstone - Could have won - 2 points lost - - but Greenmount could have had a goal before halftime!!!
leaders kanturk beaten. pearse 3 kanturk 1 ballyvolane 4 macroom 3
Blarney St. 0-0 Coachford
Dissapointed with the draw,
I felt Blarney St. weren't at their best today and we should have taken advantage but again failed to find the back of the net. Looking at our remaining fixtures I felt before this game we could have got 3pts out of this fixture but again those are the joys. A clean sheet is the next best thing I suppose.
Looking forward to your views Streetscene as I know your usually spot on.
Good result for The Gratts today , But the worrying thing about it although Knockavilla dropped points there not far off the mark either. A report on this game to follow no doubt.
To escape criticism ~
do nothing, say nothing, be nothing.
Lots of half chances. We had more. Our keeper made a few smart saves, their keeper pulled off two postage stamp ones. They had the ball in the net, we had a late peno shout - not one for the nerves!!
Table below:
Kanturk 10games 26points
Bvolane 9games 17points
Bkstone 11games 16points
Mcroom 8games 15 points
Gmount 10games 15points
Cview 9games 14points
Leeds 8games 14points
Pearse 10games 13points
Gwood 8games 12points
Not for the faint hearted!!
Im gettin this out of the way early.
Chumps of the week...........Carbury,maybe not an Aul team but they deserve a mention.I hope the Fai throw the book at um.
Champs of the week,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Springfield. They have managed to get to the last 16 of the Fai,by hook or by crook. An all done as a 2nd division club,a credit to the players/clubmen an Mr Rourke.

Their's only one Dinny Pop's.
Glenthorn 0 Gratts 3.
The best way to describe this was it was done with a professional attitude. We knew what we had to do,it may not of been pretty to look at but the end justified the means.Halla/Dave Sull an Peelo didnt make the startin 11.Last week we played on the biggest pitch in the Aul,this week the smallest. Its laughable how small it is.If you have to play on a small pitch then you need players who have excellent close controll an we have that in spades, back to front so a tough job was made a little easier.
Just a word on Glenthorn,If Glenthorn applied thenselves a bit more then they would be a top 4 side, they have some crackin players.
Steven Goulding, got taken down for a peno on 27 mins, soft or not was debateable,it was a peno.Figo took it an dispatched it brilliantly. We had 5 corners, an 4 frees within 30 yards of Glenthorns goal before the peno so a goal was comin, sooner or later.
We didnt push on as we hoped after the goal an actually let Glenthorn back into the game.Half time got us sorted though an on 50 mins young Gerry Kelleher played a fantastic throughball to Figo to make it 2 nil.It was all about how it was done an Figo let the keeper commit before he went around him, great goal.3rd came from Keith Shaw, great finish from the undoubted man of the match an honestly it was a great finish. He was superb all through the game.
I was genuinely apprehensive goin in to this game cause I knew Glenthorn were decent an the pitch wouldnt suit us,we over came both an did it without Halla an Dave Sull who again honestly have been 2 of our best players all season.
The ref, well,,,,,,,,he gave us a brave peno, denied Glenthorn a straight forward peno an generally just blew the whistle when there was a need an not because he wanted too.

Good luck to the other Cork sides in the competition today- hope we are not the only ones in the last 16.
Thanks for the good words littleman- we have a tough game either way next week Pike/Nenagh but we will go to either and I'm sure Eddie will have us well organised. If we play to our ability we will hopefully give them a good game.
We are obviously delighted to be in the next round but it would of been nice to have another big game this weekend and keep the run going. With no game now this week the match fitness might suffer a small bit but hopefully we will get a good weeks training in.

Ballyvolane 4 Macroom 3
Cracking 2nd half here. 1-1 at half time with nothing much beween the teams. A 7 or 8 minutes period in the second half, the game opened up and we had 3 goals with us 3-2 up. At this stage we could have had a lot more goals with both keepers being kept very busy. I think we def shaded the second half and our fourth came with aout 20 left on the clock. In fainess to Macroom they never stopped playing and they pulled one back with bout 5 minutes left but too little too late.
Good hard but very fair game. Thought our keeper Dermot and Brendan Nyan (hatrick) had great games.
Mr Versatile, what did you make of it ?
Horse, i agree especially after hearing the Pearse/kanturk result that our league is wide open.
great result for yee owl .,and it must have been great news for yere manager too as he was away unavoidably.master stroke playing brendan nyhan up front. it could be prove costly that colm forde went to lady ga ga concert.as previous thread shows its a very tight league with everyone capable of beating each other .
Well done Leeside- Congrats was talking to someone at the game - said it was a soft pen- and if so goodnice for the cork sides to get some luck
Unlucky Wilton
Pike beat Nenagh so its off to limerick we go- bring em on

Alright owl, thought the game was tough going for both sides, pitch was very sticky!! Thought the draw would have been a fairer result but ye did the business in that 10 min spell in the second half. Could have been alot more goals for both sides too, how yer keeper kept out the shot at the start of the second half i`ll never know.... well done to ye though! What did you make of the man in the middle?? Big thanks and well done to Pearse too on there result!!
played with club a few years back .good friend of yere manager dereck.
