Boy am I glad I made it in at lunch time!

Suffice to say that if the FAI offer me anything, those that I have spare will be offered at face value to boys in green.

I'll keep my ear to the ground for other possibilities, the more of us there are, the better...

I'm praying for the most tedious, painful, boring 0-0 in history at Croker to leave us in with a shout in Paris.

Come on you boys in green...
The Germans are disputing it. Hegel is arguing that the reality is merely an a priori adjunct of non-naturalistic ethics, Marx is claiming it was offside.

Why are so many of ye on here thinking/hoping for 0-0 draw? When i think we should be looking for and i believe we can at least 1-0. We must be positive and really believe we can at least win at home?

If we're 'positive' and go for a win in Croke Park we'll expose our often fragile defence to a counter attack invovling Govou, Anelka, Henry, Benzema et al. If we sit tight, and bore them to death with a draw 0-0 in Dublin, we are extremely capable of getting a score draw there, especially as the French will consider it job done with a home game to come.

is this a guess or based on fact? the precedence for such a high demand game, basle 03, is that the sponsors etc got sorted first and there was draw made for the remainder with you getting one entry for every two bb tickets you have. id say they will do similar this time. i just hope the fai make some kind of announcement next week as if a lot of us wont get FAI tkts, or at least if theres a chance we wont, then the earlier we can start looking elsewhere the better

Agreed, however we do need to be positive in our pressure, not sitting back, take the game to them, with emphasis on keeping it tight, if that makes sense

I would not be upset at all with a 0-0 at home, as I also believe we are well capable of getting a 1-1 in Paris. Anything better than a 0-0 at home, happy days. Anything worst than a 1-0 to France, miracles needed.

what we could do is flood all theses sights with false bids (like with the Live8 tickerts), really high bids, force the frenchies not to sell them on there, but outside the ground, where we they'd be under more pressure to sell for a more reasonable amount.

Cheers JB, still think those that travel away regularily should be prioritised ahead of BB who dont travel - just my opinion but then I would think that.

How many made all 5 away trips - 1000 ?
    How many made 4 away trips - 1500 ?
    How many made 3 away trips - 2000 ?
    How many made 2 away trips - 3000 ?
    How many made 1 away trip - 3000 ?

All those who made a min of 2 trips guarenteed a tickets, those that made 1 into a ballot ? Thoughts ? bearing in mind that the majority of those in the first couple of catagory are likely to be BB's

The FAI's special list is (sponsors, themselves) I believe, is a set number, not a percentage. In Switzerland in 2003, this took up a huge portion of the Irish number. Then there was virtually no tickets on sale out of the home market (ie. the touts) for a game that was so vitally important. That game I bought tickets through the internet ticket company in Switzerland. I did the same the following year and ended up giving my tickets to two young conscripts in the Swiss army to invite a couple of girls they knew . There was then no Irish takers.

I can't see this game being too much of a problem. Reasons: It's midweek; it's a big stadium; it's France where 60K is their max support; and there are already loads of tickets appearing for around €100 (which most of us would pay) and are still not being snapped up. None of this happened in Berne in 2003.

I just go to away games, so I'd agree. But there are plenty of reasons to favour the block bookers, EL fans, grass roots boys. We've had this argument before. It tends to end in a classic foot.ie royal rumble with everyone demanding they are first in the queue.

i usually make 2 or 3 a campaign but could only do bari this time around. i would certainly not begrudge anyone who went to more away matches than me a ticket although i would like my previous record to count for something. fingers crossed block bookers and any other regular travelers get sorted

If those numbers are accurate and I agree with you on them, then there is no reason why bbers who attended one or more away's dont get sorted. I still think all bbers will get sorted. Basel 1 was a shambles and given the number of tickets allocated for this game, I dont see the need for a ballot. If there is one, then tickets are gone walkies to sponsors, travel agents etc.

One of my work mates phoned Abbey travel this week about the packages they are running and was guaranteed €22 away end tickets. 747 are offering the same match tickets as part of their packages aparently.

I agree regular away travellers should gain some recognition - committed support of the boys in Green (though not financially backing the FAI)

Though this should not necessarily be at the expense of Block Bookers who dont travel regularly - afterall these fans are supporting the FAI (financially as well as supporting the team at home).

Like yourself, Ive not been able to travel to away games this campaign (due to a change in personal circumstances) and Paris will be my first away game, though I have attended all the home games and the few friendlies in London. Id like to think my historic travelling would count for something (but obviously there is no way the FAI can or will be able recognise that)

Ive attended 3 of our last 4 playoffs home and away - yes youve guessed it, Anfield, Brussels, Bursa but I didnt make it to Iran where we actually won!!!

Surely you guys would have no problem with me gettting a ticket - Im no jinx
I thought you were off the drink Ronnie?

"No, I drink to help me mind my own business....can I get you one? (c) Ronnie Drew
