If he was in Drimnagh why would he need to swim the Irish Sea to play for Ireland? He could just get the bus. Unless of course we were playing in England, but that's rare.

As a point to prove how much he wanted to play for ireland.

The point is he wouldn't actually swim the Irish Sea.

    I don't know about that.
    Don't underestimate the buoyancy factor.

Not to mention the insulation against the cold.

Whatever happened that mad dude from Waterford, Jim Swift?

Reading striker Kevin Doyle is set to be out of action for up to a month with a calf injury.

The Ireland international sustained the problem in the first leg of the play-off semi-final against Burnley and is now a doubt for his country`s clash with Bulgaria on June 6.

However, Royals physio Jon Fearn is confident Doyle will be fit for pre-season and told the club's official website: "Kevin has damaged muscle in his calf but the scans show no damage to the Achilles tendon. It`s difficult to assess how long he`ll be out, but it should be no more than four weeks."
