North Tipp & District League 2008/09

To the Celtic lads.. I see we are down to play ye this Sunday in the "Seme Final " of the premier cup.. I thought that this was meant to be the 1/4 final with the winners to play Thurles / Moneygal in the semi
Have ye heard anything ?? Maybe they pulled out which sounds unlikely..

Blackcastle beat town on pens in the semi according to Aertel.
Blackcastle always seem to do well in this Cup every year.

ya this is the 1/4 final it must be a misprint.the winners play thurles in the semi but we wont have to worry about that if we keep going the way we are, really struggling since we lost to town.

Just seemed funny cos they have linesmen and all put in for this fixture..

Ballymackey are safe for another season. I believe Borrisokane have to playoff against Templetouhy for the other relegation spot.

Its a long year fighting relegation.

Congrats bawn, its a tough year when youre near the bottom, our B's lost twice at the weekend, having been leading 1-0 at halftime in both games against Moneygall B and Rearcross B. Were languishing on the bottom of division 2 but have had a lot of new players this year and our A's took 4 or 5 of our players from last year so it was always going to be a struggle after our third position last year.

Id say templetuohy will win the playoff there bawn what you think?

I dont know, Borrisokane beat Ballingarry and drew with Kilcommon in their last two games while I think Templetouhy havent played any games in a few weeks so Id have to go for Borrisokane.

I suppose it all depends on hurling etc.

Roll on next year.

town vs celtic in the tipp cup final and also blackcastle in the final of the premier cup waiting on the winners of celtic vs thurles, how do ye see these matches going lads. we seem to be getting back a little bit of form at the right time. massive win against clough last sunday considering how short we were and actually played well also.

Well I think ye should be able to win one of those cups anyway. Maybe a better chance in the Premier cup.

ah no i think we have a great chance in both. loosing the league really hurt and the lads seem to finally responding in the right way, massive win last sunday considering we only had 12, our trainer came on and had to go straight back off(suspected broken ankle) so stevie togged out for the last 5. we were really struggling for numbers and thought the lads that played done themselves proud and really looking forward to the two cups now.

Ah no, just going on what you said about struggling for numbers really. Maybe that was a one-off, I know myself that sometimes you have to lose one chance to really fight for the other one.

no sorry you might have taken me up wrong there we were struggling because we had 2 lads on holidays and a couple of lads were very sick. we actually have good numbers otherwise.

draw after extra time 1-1 so replay soon. we should have won we totally domiated but didnt take the few chnces we had. lads played really well and had town well bet just couldnt put them away. hopefully more of the same the next day.

I think if we shortened the season it would help,scrap the shields and play the early rounds of the tipp cup midweek at the start of the season.Also at the end of season play 2 league games a week,wednesday and sunday maybe.
