What were you told about working purely off the Premier Division average?

Also, there's no need to quote the whole post if you're only going to refer to one line.

There's no need to be hostile about it. CelticTiger may not have read the earlier discussion.

So, a short criticism of that comparison:
The clubs with lowest attendences happened to be relegated last year, and were replaced with one with high attendences. This means that the Premier division figures have received an artificial boost.

Also, the early games (particularly round 1) tend to be better attended than the average, so early season averages tend to be higher than they'll be at the end.

Also, there's no need to quote the whole post if you're only going to refer to one line.
This, I do completely agree with.

But we won't, because the attendance always falls away. Just the way.

Okay, here's a figure that might mean something. Last year the average attendence for the league was 1,769 after 3 rounds. This year, it's 1,494. That's an overall fall in crowds of over 15%. It's not that meaningful - there hasn't been a full round of games played (i.e. 9 games in the Premier, 11 in the first), but let's not kid ourselves that everything's getting better.

Because that was an official figure.

No idea on the crowd but probably the worst crowd I've seen in Sligo. Decent away support

Can you start a new thread, or resurrect one of the 20 threads we already have on the subject? Again, it's just clogging up this one.

What you basing it on? Games in bray? Dundalk havn't played there in years?

Do Cork bring more to Bray than Drogs?

Or are you just plucking figures out of the air again?

Plus they're all PD teams. I'd wager Shels bring more away fans around the country than Bray...

I'm not sure what the "usual notes" are.
Does that 576 refer to our game against Athlone on Friday night? Or is our average attendance?

Attendance was announced as 626 (which I imagined would be the official figure, but I could be wrong), which was exactly 100 more than the previous home game against Mervue. I can't see either of those figures there.

The average of 526 and 626 (the figures you claim for your matches) is 576, so I'm guessing that he added those together and divided by two to obtain an mean (or "average"), those being the things he records.

Oh, the eldritch ways of mathemagicians.

Just because it's in extratime doesn't make it official.

    Predictions.

I remember the old days when it was easier to get offical attendances. There was 52 people at a midweek Galway Utd home game once vrs Cork City back in the late 90's.I know there was that many because i was able to count them all at halftime. Its just not that simple anymore.

The standard of journalism on that website is fairly poor. Those attendances are definitely guesstimates. Like most on here.

I must have missed something, because the 1426 quoted for us was down as official, and it was qouted on our forum as a lot higher than that.

I'm not trying to create any arguements, just looking for official figures

Oh, let me be blunt, I don't believe a word of it. I've no doubt some official told you that's what your stewards do alright so I'm not saying your lying. I'm just saying you're incredibly naive imo.
