North Tipp & District League 2008/09

celtic v town youths is fixed for this weekend with celtic down to play at home. our field looks as if it will not be playable so we offered town home advantage. their manager didn't want home advantage on the grounds that celtic youths are too good and would only love to play on a flat surface. a manager like that cant be good for town youths and he must not have any faith in his team as he is the same man who took home advantage off us last season in the youths. anyone have any thoughts????

ya the scoreline is correct. nenagh insisted on playing from what i hear because wanted games before MJC next week and FAI week after. They were 1 down today but got a draw. big blow to title hopes.

Thats bad luck on Nenagh, i suppose not be match ready before a big MJC isnt a bad idea but drawing to Moneygal is a bad result for them.

This weather is brutal, what do people think of a winter break?
With perhaps less teams in each division to make it easier to play the games during what should be the better weather.

Just reading some of the thread on the Mayo league and there top division plays its games from May on Saturday evenings. Sounds like a great idea, play a game after work on a Saturday with Sundays free.

alot of clubs cannot play on a sturday because they rely on youths players. we, Nenagh Celtic have atleast 5,6 youths players on our first team nearly every year so would not work.other clubs are same.

Playing Kilcommon if the pitches hold up. 3 points there would go a long way to keeping us up.

ya it be a big 3 points, might be the 3 that save ye. if want to stay up have to be beaten the likes of that oppostion.

Ya true enough, we have to play borrisokane at home as well. 3 points in these two games should keep us up.
I think we have turned a bit of a corner to be honest. We should have a far more settled team next year if we can stay up this year.

Ya them games probably determine if stay up or not. do you think borrisokane have an advantage by having so many games in hand as they may have to play teams later in season who have nothing to play for???

Ya its always an advantage that way, but if we beat kilcommon and borrisokane we should finish ahead of Templetouhy anyway. Then borrisokane can do what they like in their remaining games.

Thurles need to win to Give them chance of staying up?
blackcastle & Clough need wins to keep in touch ?
Ballymackey and kilcommon in relegation 6 pointer?

Looking at the rain out there today hard to know whether there will be games on.
