Drogheda United have set a deadline of 5pm tomorrow for players to accept a lump-sum settlement on owed back-wages. Players voted last week to reject a pay-off of 90,000 as settlement for roughly 300,000 of back-pay.
The club maintains that it is not in a position to increase that offer, as the funds were raised mainly by supporters for the emergency fund aimed at saving the club. Drogheda United press officer Terry Collins said: We probably have raised the best part of 200,000 - it's going to cost us that and more to get out of examinership.
The offer we made to players last week is a very generous offer considering the amount of money we have and what we're asking is that they accept it and help us get out of examinership.
