Windmill - my main point was I was surprised the town of drogheda didnt support their club more even when they won things, I think the club deserved a lot better support after giving the town a first lge and cup win.

But you are right about other areas not supporting loi football, the consistency is very bad throughut the lge

Aye you're right, probably more like 1,650 Derry fans. That means as I said that not even all season ticket holders turned up and only a few hundred had bought tickets on the night.

So I would reckon GUISAUltra would be better placed to count the 30 fans they had, and as you say you's had 20. That makes my guesstimate about right.

It's still the lowest amount than we've had all season for a league game.5th time we've played them this season as well.

thats nothing, weve played Derry 6 times, and we played Drogs 6 times, could have been 7 if they had reached the setanta cup final

i look forward to our 6 games against Sligo next year between league and Setanta

In fairness, walk around town and you'll see the amount of drogs gear worn around the town- its something else these days, seems to be 'cool' or something.

Out attendances are sh!t but so are everyone elses - I get a good aul laugh seeing EL supporters argue about attendance when overall theyre all sh!t - its actually pathetic tbh!

Even cork, who get teh best crowds at the moment, id love to see what attendance theyd get in the first division! Playing a couple of miles from turners cross and their crowd went very low while doing well in the premier. Same with every club though

For the record though theres no doubt we could increase our attendance if we'd proper facilities - not sure by how much though- our ground is hardly 'family friendly' at 25e if ye want a seat and facility wise, its not a place to bring your kids - theres actually no womens jacks in the home end would ye believe

Really ? The ongoing average here suggests they've been getting 10% less than City all season...

Wouldn't say that. If we end up getting a result in Cork on friday the club expect the showgrounds to be packed to the rafters against bray in a frortnight. I wouldn't be surprised. There seems to be a real buzz around Sligo that the Club can make Europe for the first time in 12 years.
I'd also expect Cork to have a hefty crowd for what is a cruch game for them too this Friday.

Another person who doesn't get the concept of averages!! Where do they come from?

Derry's attendances are boosted by two crowds of 6800 against Harps (or at least, that's what they're in as). Take those out, and Derry's average drops from 3300 to 2800, or 10% below Cork's crowds, which are much more even. In other words, Derry's average is higher than Cork's, but Cork haven't been getting 10% less than Derry all season. In fact, on seven occasions have Cork gotten higher than Derry's best non-Harps figure, and that could be more when you consider Cork give official figures whereas Derry's are guesstimates.

I just took out the two crowds out of the spreadsheet I have and that's the answer it gave me.

3000/16 is indeed 187.5, but you've played them twice, and you're talking 4000 over your non-Harps average, so 8000/16=500.

A bad Harps team in the premier is worth 100,000 extra to Derry?

Well if you consider that both teams are in the bottom 4 i think it's a good crowd.
That crowd is higher than Bohs crowd v Bray for potential league decider.
Amazing atmosphere at the game,I believe RTE gave praise to the crowd tonight.

I'd say about the same. The Rovers pitch invasion/flare usage is sure to get a fine. All the more pointless for them given 50-80 of their 'fans' were in the bar under the main stand until five minutes before the final whistle.. At least I'd an excuse to be there drowning my sorrows..
