robbie costigan is with clonmel town now.
I must say that it is a disgrace that Town only had 11 players. I never remember that happening before. For a club of Town's stature, it is very, very sad. I only hope that it is a one off but I was in Thurles for the Peake game and we only had two subs. Not good enough Town.
Get your act together!!!
alan barry scored all 4 last week. best striker in the league by far. any truth in the departure of town manager?

I haven't heard but I hope so
good player, good addition.Handy game for town in the FAI
From what I have heard it seems that Town's boss McKeaver is not giving any Town youth players a chance in the squad that is why they only had 11 players last week and as far as I am aware they have only had 2 subs for each game. I remember when there used to be 6 or 7 youth players STARTING on the Town team. Think there is too much of a "click" in the Town team and certain players are not allowed to be dropped regardless.
Town's B team got hammered by St.Nicholas last week they must have barely had a team as well.
Town are still wininng fair enough but think dreams of an FAI again this year are not going to come true.
Glad complexman you have come around to my views!!
I have being saying this since before the season started. Town are not the great club they once were. McKeever has stayed on to long. Many good players have left the club and whilst I wouldn't take any notice of what somebody from Old bridge has to say, Green Lane man has a point.
McKeever has to go, that is the simple truth. However Town probably wouldn't have a replacement for him. It is very sad to see such a great club in such a mess. I know that they have won four from four but that is only paper over the cracks. Maybe now people will agree with my views that it is not just the manager should go but also the people who kept him in the job!!
From what i've been hearing, McKeever seems intent on doing what he wants, and not listening to other peoples' views as regards players. He had asked about different players when he arrived at the club, youth and junior, and seems to have blatantly ignored any and all advice that he was given! Perhaps this is another reason why there are so few youth players coming through to the Junior 'A' team, either he doesn't trust them or he doesn't know enough about them! Granted, the team are still winning on a regular basis in the TSDL, and to a different degree in Munster, but he has failed to win the trophy he was brought in to win, the FAI Junior Cup. Town were winning leagues before he arrived!
Anyway, the fact that they only had 11 players, none of which was a recognised goalkeeper, last Sunday should be very worrying to Town fans. OK, it was only Rosegreen ( no disrespect intended ) and they still managed to win comfortably, but it could have been a disaster. Imagine if they had lost and ended up losing the League by a point or so . . .
That would have been hard to take I think!
Consider this, RANT OVER!!!
You never see McKeaver at a youth game or even a B team game to see is there any talent going unnoticed. The only young players that have been given a chance in the A team are sons or nephews of committee members or management......Rory Kiely, Simon Scully , Kenneth Kiely.....anyone agree?? Why have the likes of Decky O'Brein ( who was banging in goals for the B team for 2yrs ), Neil Beckett, Brendan Walsh, Barry Gibbons ( has played a few games not given fair chance though ) and the legend Chris Flanot been given a chance?
To be fair, McKeever has won a lot at Town, five leagues, two Tipperary Cup’s, a Munster Junior Cup as well as 2 other finals. He also got to 2 FAI Quarter finals. However the amount of players that have left because of him is a statement in itself. Paul Shanahan, Aaron Moroney, Adam McSherry, Ian Cleary, Craig Condon, Tony Davis, Ian Fraher etc.
This is the problem and if I am being honest, the way he carries on shouting and roaring at the players, if I was playing I wouldn’t put up with it.
Town need a new voice and a new manager with a fresh approach. It is a pity they didn’t lose to Rosegreen. That may have woken people up to the fact that he has run his course.
Town should try and get Martin Quinlivan back in the manager’s seat.
I got slagged off for having a go at Town, " don't be dissing your own club". My concerns have proven to be correct
[SIZE=2]All of this is true and it is a fine record. You can add Stephen O'Neill's name to that list mind you I wasn't sorry to see him pack it in as his best days were long gone.
Green Lane Man- Have you played all your football with the Old Bridge? How many ex town players are there with you, Stephen Kearns, Eoin Leahy, Emmett Ryan, Paul Ryan etc. However, I take your point. It’s just the nature of players in Clonmel to move around but the problem is, the better ones bar one or two, were always at Town. That's not the case now.
I am very worried about Town and I am sure most clubs are thrilled at the club's demise. Still it’s early in the season and there is time to turn it around but I don't think it is going to happen.
Town Man- You do have a personal vendetta against some of Town's committee, Muiris Walsh in particular. That’s not fair. As I said already he is a top, top man. I can bet you anything, if anybody in Clonmel Town is trying to get this problem sorted, it’s Muiris! He is TOP MAN

I don't play ball anymore due to injury but I did play for Town youths and A team for about 6yrs and then I left Town for The Bridge along with the likes of Emmet Ryan, Paul Ryan, Stephen Kearns, Eoin Leahy etc. There is about 11 ex-Town players with Old Brdige and the main reason they all left was cause of the "click" in the club back then and players having a say in the team like Stephen O'Neill etc. Most players didn't get on with Billy Lambe as well but that all in the past now. Would have likefd to play for Town again and so would other players at The Bridge but McKeaver is the main reason players won't go back.
What are Cashel Town like this season? Have heard some talk about them from people at some of the Premier League games I was at and they also had a number of players on the Oscar Traynor last year, would they be good enough to challenge Town and Michael's if they got promoted??
Thats intersting that Billy Lamber was a problem and there was a click. I suppose no matter who you get in charge, some people will have a problem. I will admit that Stephen O'Neill had to big an influence in team selections.
I thought Emmett Ryan was going back to Town?
How did you find Muiris Walsh and the rest of the committee
