It's the smelly toilets in the Horse Shoe that I blame for this whole mess. And have they sorted that hand drier out yet? Flippin lethal that was.

"Homer Simpson, smiling politely."

Just because 100 odd people attended does not mean much. The meeting was a short notice supporters club meeting with Foras Q & A. Many people would already be aware of the issues. No need to attend the meeting to join Foras.
The Rovers 400 club had a big advantage that they were already well established.
FAI STATEMENT ON CORK CITY FC
Following Arkaga’s regrettable decision to renege on its written undertaking to guarantee all liabilities arising at Cork City Investment FC Ltd until January 2009, the club entered into examinership on August 18. The FAI has already expressed its displeasure at Arkaga’s actions which have placed the club in the difficult position it currently finds itself.
The FAI met this morning with the Examiner appointed to Cork City Investment FC Ltd. He expressed his desire for a quick decision from Licensing regarding a sanction for Cork City FC as it would make it more desirable for the investors currently interested in the club to proceed with their intentions.
A meeting of the Independent Club Licensing committee was convened tonight and they deducted 10 points from Cork City FC for being involved in an examinership process as per section 3.1.2 of the club licensing manual. This sanction is effective immediately. The Committee was keen to express that it is imperative for all clubs to adhere to sound financial policies.
Now that the club has entered into examinership, the FAI has provided the examiner with a letter stating that the FAI will support the club during the examinership process as it strives to regain sound financial footing.
The committee could levy any sanction they wanted.
Arkaga haven't lived up to the commitments they gave for the season on behalf of the club so some points deduction is fair enough I suppose.
I'm what? I'm ants at a picnic?
The FAI Club Licensing Committee has the power to withdraw any licence or apply any sanction
during a season if the Licensee:
o no longer satisfies any single criteria for issuing the licence;
o violates any of its obligations, duties, confirmations or undertakings under this
Manual, Contract or Confidentiality Agreement
o Is involved in a bankruptcy, receivership, examinership or liquidation process, or
is struck off the Companies' Register
Kom Igen, FCK...
CCFC got off lightly here I feel.

Thank goodness for that.
I'd visions of Galway United getting a lifeline!!
****ing joke. 10 points?? **** that. The FAI make it up as they go along. Can't believe we were almost flung out of the league for something similar yet Cork get off with a slap on the wrist.
I thought it was fair to be honest. I was hoping it would be 6 points but we'll take it on the chin and move on.
The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.
I actually agree with you to be honest.
I think we got off very lightly BUT that's what happens when there are no clear guidelines as to punishments. They can just make it up as they go along.
I wouldnt presume this is the end of it though. There's still a matter of getting a license for next year which is where yerselves fell down.
im a bit suprised with the punishment .. its interestin whats goin to happen to next season. will cork city get their top flight licence???
Gary Cronin is he the right man to manage Longford Town?
Is the fixed punishment in the Football League for going into receivership 10 points deduction? Or is it 15?
Perhaps this is the basis for City's deduction
I'm what? I'm ants at a picnic?
Im surprised it happened so fast, but the examiner is right. We needed to know one way or another
Id imagine it depends who's in charge. If we havent paid the debts then I expect not. If Arkaga are still around then I expect not.
But if we manage to clear the debts or set up payment schemes, and have someone new in charge, be that the fans, or a mixture of Foras and investors then maybe.
Least of our worries tbh. At this stage Id be delighted to be guaranteed first division football next season
Complete joke of a punishment, the FAI are a joke, First galway get fined €300 for racist comments made by some "fans" of theirs. Shels nearly get thrown outta the league for a very similiar situatuion as Cork and Cork get a point deduction and a slap on the wrist. There getting worse and worse the FAI.
I'm glad someone agrees with me. I'm fuming about this decision. I've no desire to see Cork disappear but where is the consistency. The FAI needed to deduct all your points to insure you were relegated. Now, you've time to clear your debts before the licensing process begins and you could come out of this with no material punishment. Ridiculous
Relevance?
Shels did not get thrown out of the league. Shels didnt get a license in 2007, its very possible that we wont get one in 2009. The situations are very different because of the timing. Had Shels imploded sooner the FAI may have done the same thing. We simply don't know
Nope, we didn't go into Examinership. Remember we have assets![]()
