All three practically done deals and have been for a couple of weeks
Excellent signings for Pats if thats the case.
How the **** did Pats get O'Neill and Ndo?
We've paid our players on time every week for the last year.
Oh and Ndo obviously has some feelings for the club
Brought him back to European football. First Irish club. He was happy here apparently (It helps our chairman is fairly active in African charities and anti Rascism movements here I guess). He moved as Johnny Mac wanted to spend his wages elsewhere and Eamon Collins told him lies (which I can’t go into here but its nothing to do with football). I know how much he asked Bohs for and I know how much we offered him and we weren’t even close.
Or I was just saying that as I couldn't think of another reason why he'd sign for us...
I'm very happy about the above, if true, as I was extremely concerned at the prospect of Ndo coming North as we don't need another centre midfielder.
Though I wouldn't have said no to Rodgers as a left back for Derry.
Always thought Rogers was rubbish TBH
I wouldnt take any of the three of them. Not saying they are bad players but we have those positions covered, and the only player i'd take from Shels is Jason Byrne
I'd take O'Neill ahead of Byrne. And I said that before we even thought of signing him. O'Neill's a better all round striker
If we are keeping Farren (hopefully) then he and O'Neill would be too lightweight a front pairing.
We badly need a Gary Beckett-type replacement coming through, but that type of player is thin on the ground in the League. Alan Murphy was my own great white hope in that position, but he's obviously gone by the wayside. Hopefully Kevin McHugh can get a run in the team in his preferred position and build a partnership with Farren.
I'm not sure about Byrne as I genuinely don't see a 20 goal a season striker as being an absolute necessity as long as the goals are coming from elsewhere, which was certainly the case in Stephen Kenny's style of play. There also remains the doubt that Byrne is in the Robbie Keane mould, ie that he needs 3 gilt edged chances to get each goal.
Great signings for Pats, this changes my prediction of the final positions for next year anyway.
Pats should be looking to get into the top 4 at least.
Goning to be a very competitive race for the title
Ryan
Rogers Foley Brennan Frost
Kirby Fahey Mulcahy Ndo O Connor
O Neill ....
lol we have no strikers thats a decent 11, a newcastle type decent 11 bet we never any of those playing at the same time assuming Mulcahy and the others sign for us again.

Dodge, would you not be better off putting that money into doing a bit of improvements to that ****-hole of a ground you have?
Considering Bohs 'we have loads of money' turned down Joey Ndo's wage demands I'm shocked he has ended up back at Pats, even with a reduction in his demands.
Gary O'Neill is a good striker and much better than the two amigos who just departed Richmond Park.
Dave Rogers is useless....
I hope and pray that the rumour he has signed turns out to be 100% fact. If I knew losing O'Neill and Ndo meant getting rid of Rogers I could take it :p
think Joey asked Drogheda for too much wages aswell.100k a year or something
Who said he was happy? Its a circle. Better chance of winning something leads to more fans leads t more money to spend on ground.
Or at least thats the thinking
i thought you did the same thing in the late 90's?
Just think it has the potential for a cracking ground.
Our style of play under Kenny wasn't based around creating enough chances for a 20 goal a season striker, at least not enough for Byrne anyway.
It was based around one striker dropping deep to receive and midfielders pushing forward to attack.
Obviously Fenlon may well change this.
PS We lost the League by not gaining enough points.
higgins you cant be serious about that stupid comment ???
FAO St. Pat's Fans
Is there any update on the Richmond Park situation?
The club's official position, as outlined in the presentation to the IAG, is that there are three options:
1. Stay in Richmond and develope it
2. Sell Richmond and move to a greenfield site
3. Sell Richmond and move to groundshare with another club
Option 1 is the one that Pats For Richmond are pursuing in conjunction with club officials and which has got public declarations of support from Brian Kerr, Pat Dolan, etc.
Option 2 would essentially be replicating what Bohs are planning to do but I haven't heard anything on the grapevine about such a move by Pats, at least not in terms of an actual location. Put it down as a theoretical possibility though.
Realistically, Option 3 means sharing Tallaght with Rovers and everyone knows where that one currently stands. So still also a theoretical possibility.
As regards the club's preference, that's hard to tell. Different board members lean in different ways so there isn't one defined preference, they're keeping all options open (i.e. fudging announcing a decision). At one time it was definitely Option 3, then PFR came along and started getting stroppy, so they said they'd explore Option 1 with us. Big wheels turn painfully slowly.

whats PFR?
Pats for Richmond.
Sadly its in Pats fans best interests for Thomas Davis to succeed or for Shels to jump into tallaght should TD fail. Best interests being staying in richmond regardless of state.

maybe but i think that longterm it would be in pats interest to share in tallagh, it cant help be the best ground in the country when completed and also you can keep away from the ruffians across the liffy
YOu've no understanding of the Pats fans situation then, or the work put in by ROvers in the area.
Pats would die in Tallaght. Simple
while i agreed with your seniment i feel that longterm and this can only be judges longterm it would work, also while rovers do great work in tallagh the place has such massive potential
NO TO GROUNDSHARING!!!!!
pats rovers
bohs shels
rovers ucd
cork derry
cobh bray
etc etc etc
It's a stupid idea
always was and always will be in my head
Stay where you are Pats.
If you are forced out start up a new team and I'll support you :)
I know its a massively emotive issue but i fear higs you are speaking from a supporters point as apposed to someone who is trying to build a financially successfully club
Ooooh, nasty! I reckon Higgins would give ANYTHING for a financially successful club right now.
Dublin clubs say smaller clubs outside the pale unwilling to change & holding the league back. On the otherhand non-dublin clubs say dubs unwilling to change by accepting ground sharing & holding the league back.
There are many examples of ground shares already such as Cork City share with MFA, Galway United share with schoolboys leagues.
