Check out page 5 of this. It's some draft plan for the redevelopment of Richmond Rd. Tolka is marked as an area under zoning objectives as: To preserve, provide and improve recreational amenity and open space.
Does that reduce the value of the land?:confused:
Not sure, I think the plan was always to have recreational space there.

Would Shels have enought money left to upgrade Santry Stadium to EUFA Licence standard? They have plans to knock down the terracing in Santry and build corporate boxes and a new bar.

However I think this has been denied by Shels, with Olly Byrne saying they are hoping to hear news about their move to Santry before Xmas. If it doesn't come off, I expect Shels to go to Dalymount. On a slightly side issue to the Tolka Park redevelopment plan. I would suggest that Shels will be looking very hard at Tallaght as a base as it seems to be the best opportunity for them to get somewhere to call home even if it is sharing with Rovers.
What are the views of the Rovers support if this were to happen? Would there be a worry that the perception that a lot of the potential local support will choose Shelbourne due to their recent successful years?
Rovers have a huge head start in the area with youth team link ups, link up with the basketball team, basing their administration side of things there, people of Tallaght knowing (or believing) that Rovers will be coming for years. I think a move to Tallaght will feck Shels up. Even in Drumcondra their attendances are not great for a side who has cleaned up domestically over the last half a decade and enjoyed European progress. Moving miles away from there will only push them away from their core support and even further from Ringsend.Quote:
