Sweet Jebus.
Please read my post properly before making a rash judgement of my opinion!
I said I didn't think the people of Limerick have the appetite not LFC fans.Thats the same people of Limerick who refuse to support their local team but will fly to Toulouse for the rugby at the drop of a hat in case they "miss the craic".
Just to clarify these people,as we all know exist in every town/village/suburb of the country and I'm not having a go at Limerick specifically-But my point still remains that the people of Limerick arn't interested in getting in at the start of something but of course will come out of the wooodwork should some success come your way-This is my broad opinion compared to the specific one tht I was discussing with LTID.
That you believed I held the view that "we support or team in the hope we can stay in the 1st div forever" is truly ridiculous!

A really good game, a really good atmosphere, and for 120 minutes, a great performance from Limerick against Fingal. I was proud of every player tonight, they gave everything they had. Shane Clarke could have won it, but couldn't keep his shot on target after John Tierney had hit the crossbar. Ronan Finn missed a great chance for Fingal too.
Timmy Kiely and Sean Kelly missed our penalties, while Fingal scored all four.
It may be a blessing in disguise, because for the first time in a few years, Limerick have a real chance of promotion, and we didn't need an extra game or two in the cup. We certainly didn't need an extra 30 minutes tonight, we had a few walking wounded at the end of it.
If we churned out performances like that every week we'd be comfortably top of the league. Kiely, Purcell and Tierney were all immense, but the entire team was amazing.
Excellent exhibition of penalty-taking at the end, too.
While I would've like to have won it, I guess it is better not to be ****ing around with cup ties at the business end of a tight league season.
In my opinion Fingal got out of jail tonight and fair play to Limerick for making it an old fashion cup tie. What is posted above i agree with.
