Speculation (mine!)
Lescott to Man City..£14 PLUS Richard Dunne ?!
Moyes would snap that up methinks.
Wouldn't be a gret move for Dunne though, Everton will always be a 6th to
10th place EPL team.

I heard it from a solid unimpeachable source, that he overheard 2 people talking together at Craven Cottage,
one said "Dunne looks a bit heavy"
the other replied, "he must be knocking back too much beer"
You'd be drinking a lot too if you were left out to dry by your midfield every game, and had to babysit Micah Richards at the back.
And if he plays like he did in Bulgaria each game, I'll buy him the beer myself.
He would have lost the captaincy if he was the lush that the rumor mill has him being. I think.
Drink or no drink, I'd bet on him being stripped of the captaincy by the end of the season anyway.
Hughes will drop him, but he will remain "club captain," as Barry captains the side in the meantime.
Eventually Dunne will want a bigger role and ask to move in January, and Barry will be named permanent captain. :(
Maybe Shay will be captain. He's been Given it good after all.

Where? I didn't even know it was being mooted.
I would assume Dunne would not want it but be surprised if Moyes wouldn't want Dunne.
Think it was one of the earlier posts in this thread... But definately read it somewhere...
I'd love to see him at Villa. Less pressure, great club, great manager and guaranteed first team football.
I heard it from someone working close to Dunne; those on hear who know me will understand that I don't normally say things unless I have some basis for them :D
Looks like Dunne is staying at City: http://www.skysports.com/story/0,195...488101,00.html
I thought he looked out of sorts on Wednesday. I think you need the backs to the wall stuff in a competitive game to see the best of Richard. I expect to see a much improved performance from him and the rest of the team in Cyprus.
Aston Villa have bid 5 million pounds for Dunne:

Would be a good move imo, the soundings all summer is that he isnt really wanted any more at City, although he has played in most of the pre season games.
If lescott joins City, it will be lescott and toure first choice pairing.
The Villa defense have looked all over the place first half against Wigan. Wigan should be 3 up. I can't see MON playing Davies and Cuellar together again. I expect to see at least one new cente half at Villa park this week. Surely Dunne must be top of the list.
Shay had a very good game, looks to be on top of his form.
We'll probably need him to be.
Thought it was even between Toure and Dunne in the first half, but Dunne was supreme in the second half.
To be honest i thought toure outplayed dunne, whilst dunne put his body on the line more, toure looked to be ordering the defense and read the game a little better with many important interceptions,,,, that said both did ok
So is he gonna move? Hopefully not, and especially not to Aston Villa.
hmm dunno lads dunne was easily outmuscled down the line on one occasion and let his man get into the box and on another misjudged the flight of a ball over his shoulder and ended up colliding with given causing him to lose the ball in the box. there was commitment for sure but uncertainty in other areas of his game as well
If he's leaving then Aston Villa is a better move than Sunderland.
After Everton's thrashing yesterday, they could do with getting rid of Lescott and bringing in Dunne as part of the deal with Man City. I'd have Dunne before Lescott, but then again, I'm not David Moyes.
Just some of the digs from the observer today about Dunne
"When David Moyes catches sight of Dunne's display, he will probably slap another £10m on Joleon Lescott's price" Paul Wilson match report.
"The problem is, City are much better going forwards than backwards. The need to upgrade Richard Dunne so that Kolo Touré can work with a centre-half of comparable quality was sadly apparent." Hayward
Was he that bad? The guys on Soccer Saturday said he played well?!
I watched the match and Dunne was caught for pace on several occasions. He didn't look anywhere near top four quality which is what Manchester City are at this stage.
Funny that, where did you watch the game?!! I watched the game in its entirety and came to a different conclusion. Also, according to Sky pundits after the game (I think Phil Thompson) they don’t know how Lescott could fit in there when Toure and Dunne were outstanding. Similar comments on Setanta. Anyone who thinks Lescott is a better defender than Dunne knows very little.
BBC commentator on MOTD said on one instance that Dunne defended poorly when a Rovers attacker got to the endline and crossed BUT this was Wayne Bridge’s job and Dunn was covering for him . Bridge was anonymous throughout the game.
It is very easy for English commentators to pick on Dunne and they have done so for years but anyone with an appreciation of a defender’s role watching this game could only conclude that Dunne had a very good game.
Adebayor and Dunne clashed when clearing a high ball, as did Toure and Adebayor, the English “experts” no doubt attributed an error to Dunne for the first and to Adebayor for the second! Adebayor was at fault on both occasions.
I don't think Dunne played that well on Saturday - didn't have a shocker but made a few mistakes that on another day could have cost city.
Also think that Given was OK, dropped a few balls etc but in the Indo and Times yesterday he got MOTM! T'was Gareth Barry for me
Allardyce said Given was the difference in the sides: http://www.theepochtimes.com/n2/content/view/21089/
He got two bonus points in fantasy football as well, Adebayor got threeQuote:
“I think it [the final score] was very harsh,” Blackburn manager Sam Allardyce said. “Our failing today was in the poor quality of our finishing.
“But their goalkeeper Shay Given also made one brilliant save after another and that kept them in the game."
What mistakes did Dunne make? I noticed one, when he ran out with the ball and gave it away under pressure, like most of his “mistakes” they come from trying to do too much! A good solid performance. Possiblt coudl have had a penalty against him for one tackle, not for handball, the ball struck his elbow
Barry gave the ball away twice, unnecessarily. Adebayor got in Dunne’s way and Toures’s way. But, an overall good performances from all three. English commentator’s criticism of Dunne is grossly unfair, and always has been over the top. An easy target.
Bridge was the worst of Man City’s defenders leaving Dunne to cover for him many times.
Given had a great game with a couple of world class saves. He dropped the ball once...parrying to himself is not dropping the ball, keepers take the sting out of the ball all the time now and then pull it back in...Intentionally. Given, Dunne, Toure, Adebayor or Barry could have been MOTM despite a couple of minor errors from each of them.
