This is a wind up. Although, he did have some heart trouble last year, so maybe there is a health issue. Wasn't always a favourite of mine but I had grown to like him. big loss but I can't believe its true

i think the nominations should be alan leahy of peake, paul shanahan of celtic and raymie condon of clonmel. leahy to win, long overdue. think it will be difficult for celtic at cooke park especially catching saints on the back of a defeat last week. one nil to saints for me
last 2 months he has been exceptional, granted, mackey is unlucky to miss out
I think most people from all the clubs on here would agree Alan Leahy has been outstanding for 5 years and easily Peakes best player in those 5 years and despite the events of the last week i hope they secure the result they need to win the league, the likes of Leahy,O Connor,Fogarty and Duggan should be winning leagues and cups, they would grace any junior side in the country

Muiris Walsh has resigned from his PRO position because of his anger towards decisions that the TSDL committee have made regarding the TSDL not allowing Robbie Costigan to sign so late in the season when there is clearly no rule in the book to say he cannot and also he feels the suspensions to Moroney and Burns were harsh considering the circumstances.
He feels that the TSDL are not behind the club in their efforts to win the Munster and the FAI, I wonder who makes these decisions.
Any other rumours that there is in-fighting in the club is untrue.
suprised at the nominations, all good players though and fair play to them. wonder can cashel hold onto coleman, heard a few of their players are saints bound...........................
Graham Doyle had a great season in fairness to him, also has a great attitude towards his teammates and his opponents, worthy of the nod for the premier league award but your man, Leahy is also an excellent player, has been in the top 3 of centre halves in the league over past few years. I'd give it to the 2 if I could.
What Cashel players are good enough to play at the Town/Michaels level? I know your man Slattery is a decent forward, anytime i have seen Coleman in action his height and strength always went against him, couldn't rate him.
That cannot simply be true. Look I don't know Muiris well but I do know that he would not and I repeat would not walk away from Clonmel Town FC over the TSDL. To suggest that he would go for those reasons is ridiculous. The club are facing into the Munster Junior Cup final and a FAI Semi, do you mean to tell me he would walk away from that. Do you realise who this man is??? Are you aware of his standing in the game and in Clonmel Town? Do you know of his passion for ClonmelTown and for sport. The few players I know, tell me he is the most respected man in the club.
I am sorry, if its true that he has gone, its not because of Tommy Lewis or the TSDL. I don't think its his health, because I saw the man on Thursday in Superquinn and he looked fine. I just hope the man is ok. Clonmel Town can't lose people of the caliber of Muiris Walsh
Well "complexman" its the truth, do you not know anyone in the club that could confirm it to you? Muiris wears his heart on his hand and is very passionate and I believe this is a very unthoughtful and rash decision, I know him well and I am sure he will be back alright, he is just frustrated with some of the decisions made by the TSDL, the two aforementioned reasons are only the tip of the barrel.
I don't know are the performances of the nominees based just on the Tipperary domestic league and cup only, if so in fairness Clonmel Town haven't had the best of league campaigns so its probably fair not to have a Town player in the final 3 but if the award was going for FAI or Munster he would definitely win the award, a colossus, a role model for any young centre half, I hope for him that we do win a major trophy this year as he will be lifting it.
None of this is adding up, either Muiris is very selfish and walked away at a crucial time or else something major has gone on. I don't know him at all but I can't believe he would just up and leave at this stage. if it was a problem, why not wait till the season was over? Something not adding up here. As I say I don't know him only to see and hear. I said some things about him, that I regret. I think this is awful news for Clonmel Town. I agree with complexman, I just hope he is ok and that nothing major is wrong. Anybody here actually know the man personally and could find out?
So will Clonmel Town do Celtic a favour tomorrow or will they field a weakened side?
Not a hope, the players stance is not to let Peake win the league in the complex after that happened 2 weeks ago and beat them and let them both fight it out between themselves in the play off.
Mega
You could have cracked the Muiris Walsh mystery, maybe he walked because Town were going to field a wekened side- I hope they don't and don't believe they will put that might be the reason for Muiris walking
Mmmm- well if that is the case, it is a very unthoughtful decision and I am dissaponted with him. Why punish Town for the wrongs of the TSDL. I cannot understand how we could leave Town at such a crucial stage of the season. My opinion of him has gone down. Bad form leaving the club at this stage but as you say hopefully he will be back. But do the club need guys who walk out when they don't agree with a decision. The club hasn't done anything wrong, so why not stick by your club.
This is all very strange
Well if this is true, he is not the man I believed him to be. Its a sad day for him and a good one for Clonmel Town. The club need people who will stick by the club and fight for them, not run away because of the TSDL. If everyone who didn't like the rulings of the TSDL left, then nobody would be left in football. Town should just move on without him. As was said the club has done nothing wrong and the real good people who care about Town are still there.Muiris Walsh is not bigger than Clonmel Town. It survived without him and will survive without him. They will be stronger
