I can assure you that no coin was tossed. Seemingly neutral venues for Tipperary Cup semi finals are not used any more, and I also know when this changed as Celtic have been in the Tipperary Cup semi final for the last 4 years. Last year they were away to Ballingarry, in 2008 at home to Town and in 2007 a neutral venue was used when Celtic played Rock Rovers in Cooke Park.

So obviously the TSDL changed policy in 2008 and I don't know why. Anyone any ideas? Much prefer if it was a neutral venue this year as it will be hard to Celtic to get a result up there.

that's me told!! Seriously though, the TSDL often change their minds about things so no surprises there. May be Saints were first out of the draw for the semi final - isn't that how CLonmel Town got home advantage ie, Cahir in fai semi (whenever that is played) - they were first out in the draw, may be that is how they are working it.

Not at all. I fully believe that they should be held accountable for their actions. But, in the case of an abandoned game, why is the game being started from scratch, and not from the point at which it was abandoned. Why basically, are Peake Villa being punished, unless it was ruled that they were responsible for the abandonment

This was one of the things I was talking about during the week. Again, probably won't be thanked for this point of view, but I would have no sympathy at all for Aaron Moroney if he misses both the FAI Junior Cup game and the Munster Junior Cup game. Players need to learn that violent actions have consequences, and it might make him think a bit harder next time he decides to jump into a dangerous tackle. A player missing work (and possibly losing it altogether) is a lot worse than a player missing a few football matches.

That said, I hope Clonmel Town win the Munster Junior, and wish them and Michaels all the best in the FAI

seriously though a player must be punished even if the match is abandoned. otherwise whats to stop a team thats losing 3 nil at half time from starting a brawl in order to get the match replayed on another day?? by the way i heard that 2 peake players have also been suspended

Correct, Saints were first out of the hat as the draw was made on Tipp FM a few weeks ago. I'd be still interested in hearing the TSDL's reasoning for not using neutral venues for Tipperary Cup semi finals anymore.

Clonmel Town were similarly 'punished' in last year's Tipperary Cup final when the game was abandoned after 55 minutes with Celtic down to 10 men. In fairness to Town they never moaned about the fact that they had to play the full game again with Celtic restored to 11 players although the player that was sent off in the abandoned game was suspended for the final.

You are right, Roberto, neutral venues are the fairest, and as you say, Saints are hard to beat on their own patch, Saints will be up for it, cause silver ware is important to them this year as League is gone for them, Best of luck to both teams this Saturday night.

Balingarry are drawn to be at home in the other semi but there pitch has been deemed unplayable and so it was switched to a neutral venue.

The game was abandoned because of the behaviour of BOTH teams................simples!!

Probably in next weeks papers........................... I see it's on in the Clonmel Park Hotel again. Great venue, made it a very good night last year!! Who would your nominations be for the respective divisions??

Don't know what's going on at Town but I would imagine Muiris Walsh will be a big loss to the club following his resignation.

premier id go with paul shanahan, jimmy carr, raymie condon as nominations in other divisions u prob just have to go with league winners getting player of the year so you would be talking about galbally, moyglass, cashel town b, cahir b all having players in the running, nominations should be in paper this week if its on next friday give people time to get sorted for it. ya it was very good last year in clonmel park hotel, alot better than 3 or 4 years ago when they had it in a pub in clonmel it was a terrible place for it
if it wasnt for birds and booze id have played for ireland juniors!!!!!
