He never said he made, just transferred to Reading. They are a premiership side no?

Now that Cork have sold off their best players over the last year or two and are playing for european places rather than league titles...
What good has it done ?
Is the money going towards debts that were built up having those players in the first place or where is it going ??
Bennet did transfer to the 1st team squad as opposed to the youth team.
Who knows where the money going. Previous monies would certainly have gone a long way to making up revenue due to tax bill & lost sponsorship.
Even with extra cash it is difficult to find quality players & pay their wages.
We probably haven't made much money from Doyle, Long, Bennet & O'Donovan transfers at this stage but with sell on clauses hopefully we will start seeing extra cash in the next few years. It would be reasonable to expect that Doyle 10% clause would be worth E1m.
I presume the deal with him going to be loaned back to Cork for the rest of the season is part of this yeah?
No, that was part of the scuppered Fulham bid. He's gone for good AFAIK.
see mr dolan is saying he earned cork over a million in transfers from the players he brough in .
By siging Cork lads that were going home anyway...
in my view, roy o donovan is over rated and wont last ****ing time in england,
he will be back in cork within 12 months.
wath a waste of money roy (keano)
How long before O'Donovan has a thread in the Ireland section here? :p
The next day after his transfer I had fella at work asking me if he was any good. Granted he is not Irish but he still had never previously expressed an interest in the eL.
I would have preferred it if he went to Fulham.I hate Sunderland
On the bench tonight , Murphy and Stokes not in squad
Im delighted Roy came on as a sub ,Good start for the lad.
2 big atitudes there.
I wonder if Colin 'Im to good to go on loan to the league of ireland' had a go off him afterwards.
Hell it didn't take him that long to get into the team . I hope he does well for them .
How are we supposed to know?
I thought you take an interest in how the club is being run?
Cork have the biggest average crowds in the League, have probably received about 2 years wages in transfer fees in the last 18 months and are probably only mid-table in the wage paying stakes.
Either a lot of other clubs are about to go to the wall (which is highly possible!) or somebody is taking money out of the club.
Sorry, I can't give you a certain answer.
I don't know.
That's beside the point.
You asked it matter of factly.
I'm not being smart but how would we know?
One can only speculate.
New training ground in the offing.
New City Centre premises (unsure if this is rented or mortgaged)
New General Manager
New Director of Media and Operations
New Commercial Manager
Club Promotions Officer (making up a shortfall in his wages after FAI grant or so I heard.)
As for on-field, I wouldn't be surprised if the money-men have already decided to wait til next pre-season to invest further in the playing staff (and possibly management) given the way our season has gone.
At least, that's what it looks like to me.:o
E1m would not pay for 2 years wages. Maybe 8 months.
I am sure there is money to invest on the pitch but only time will tell. It should be remembered we don't have owners pouring millions into the club like Drogs & Pats. We would be more similar to Derry City but with larger wage bill.
