Seriously, is the FAI game off next week? Can Bunratty ask for a free weekend for FAI weekend. I was sure that the FAI games HAD to be played on fixture given. Will it mean that Munster Junior game be changed aswell?

I would say that Newtown conceded the last 20 minutes of the game because their midfield was overrun because Moher threw the kitchen sink at them and their defence, while defending never cleared decisively enough.Having said that Moher were incapable of creating anything from their possesion. What baffles me is Newtowns persistance with hitting long high balls into the opposition defence when they have small players, who clearly cannot head the ball, as strikers(the same happened against Avenue until Dave Devaney was introduced). The one time they played football along the ground they scored an absolutely cracking goal.
The League has been notified 2 weeks in advance of the date of the FAI game and we have been told that as per the clare league rules that this should be adequate notification. Newtown won't have a problem with this given the day that's in it.....going to be some weekend of it!! :D
I saw the second half and your right, if ye had a finisher up front i think ye would have won, the bridge keeper made an outstanding save from a close range shot. The ball was going into the top corner but somehow the keeper saved it, there was a couple of half chances aswell.
11/09/06 Bridge Celtic 3 - 1 Lifford
Also had work so no report but I believe Pa Wilson scored Lifford's only goal.
Any report Murphman??
Ya they should have been 3 up in the first half, bridge were crap, kept giving the ball away passing going short, and didnt create much either, great headed goal by jo jo murphy, gave bridge a bit of life and plugged away,
2nd half much the same again keeper was brilliant, they had lots of half chances, should of scored last 20 when there striker was straight through but delayed to long and albert finnan got in a great block,
all in all great result for bridge,if u can grind 3 points out of a bad performance,it cant be bad.
It has to be said that the Bridge held out by the efforts of Jo Jo Murphy's excellent defending ,particularly against a bigger man, and Rinneanas lack of ideas of how to break them down.
Has anyone seen a decent team in the premier so far???
I've seen Lifford play good football in first half vs. Newmarket and Newtown played some good football vs. Lifford but lacked the killer pass. I don't any think team could be too happy with their starts with exceptions of Bridge Celtic and Rineanna. I'm not in a position to comment on the type of football they played as I haven't seen them play.
Anybody else got views on this??
Ive played in a few games so far and none of them have been good.
Ive watched a few aswell and they haven't been any good either.
I think what it boils down to is that the Clare League standard is fairly poor in general. IMO there aren't any good teams only good players in a couple of teams.
Does anyone know when players can apply for a transfer?
:D u have up on till xmas before it closes i think..
So you are saying that if a team goes far in the FAI Junior that their stand is
GREAT. Read the post, as i said there are no GREAT teams in limerick, people who have been involved in Junior soccer in Limerick would probably agree that the standard is NOT GREAT,I was reading the Limerick thread and some say that it is poor aswell....And as i said already Soccer in Shannon/Clare is fairly poor in general.
sanity ... we could disagree all day about limerick / clare standards
if being honest limerick would be better but probally only because in limerick ye play maybee better teams week in week out..
but must add that due to clare winning oscar traynor trophy not so long ago .. would you not consider we must have good teams & good players also playing in clare
This debate could go on for days!!!!!!!!:( :( :(
for sure there are good teams and players in the clare league.for some reason or another when it comes to the oscar traynor limerick cannot put out their top players due to various difficulties between certain clubs and managers not making players available.(not knocking the clare leagues victory, just has been a problem in limerick of late)
would the standard of pitches and facilities in the clare league be up to a similar standard to the limerick league(premier divisions).
Lets hope not CSD, as then we will have the Limerick contingent coming on telling how wonderful thier league is, and how they have the best players, and the better facilities ,and they'll drone on and on until it becomes apparent to them that intellect on an open forum is a basic requirement.
I think we have been here before:D
yeah i am still here smellyfeet, on the premier it looks like it's going much the same as last year,All of the teams are-will drop points. i think it will be between Bridge UTD Bridge Celtic Newtown and maybe Newmarket if they keep fielding, before ye all start this is only my opinion,Don't think that the town teams will do any good, lifford will concentrate on 21's,Avenue in transistion.Rinneanna will fade to about 4th or 5th place,it will be between Olympic,Mountshannon and Moher for relegation,i think thats everyone covered. On the Refs i agree with Smellyfeet, standard is bad for both refs and players but Refs are getting paid....Most of the refs now are not biased, they make bad decisions for both teams which we can all get over.In earlier years we did have biased refs.......a boy the Paddy.......
