And its that kind of mentality that has football in this country in the dark ages.
City and Longford have stood together on this, and so should everyone else.

But you'd care if it was you, and you will care when it is you in the next few years. FAI believe they can do anything they want anytime they want regardless fo the rules they have laid out saying they cant. This wont be the last time it happens.
Im glad we're standing up to them but I dont expect anyone else to care, although I think I would even if we werent in the final. Its just another example of the FAI's disregard for our league.
Closing stable door after horse has bolted.
Everyone knew what they were signing up for under the shiny new League. The wage cap was clearly stated. Positive comments from lots of those involved with "big clubs" over how it was a good thing for the League. No point crying about it now.....
Oh right so what this is actually about is Cork wanting all the other clubs to rally round so that they can be allowed ride rock solid over the rules they signed up to and ultimately buy the league now that they have a few bob.
All very grandQuote:

I don't remember you standing up when the FAI was killing my club mind
Yeah thats exactly it......
What me personally? I thought what they did was a disgrace....not sure what exactly I was supposed to do about it though, other than add it to the list of reasons I hate the FAI
Micls - did you ever find the release where the FAI said the prizemoney was €100K. I still can't find it anywhere.
Why is everyone singling Cork out alone over this ?
It appears that both them and Longford are unhappy with the situation, and are tackling the FAI over it. Yet it's only Cork that everyone's gurning about.
Maybe the truth would only get on the way of a good opportunity to knock the Langers...
Fine I'll add Cork being screwed out of a few euro to my list aswell
It will be somewhere in the middle though between Clinton Morrison and John Delaneys hair
Personally, I genuinely thought they were the only ones making a fussQuote:

Must have missed all the Longford bleating
In all fairness Cork seem to have taken the lead on this with Longford relatively quieter.
It also strikes me as yet another own goal by senior football- and to my mind both the clubs and the FAI are to blame. Instead of fighting this battle via the press it should have been done in private if at all possible, and it does not appear to me that that was the case.
Yeah, I have, and I must have missed all the Longford fans complaining about it.
I must also have missed the pieces about it on the Longford website, and this piece must have accidentally slipped onto the website instead.
Doesn't look that way from where I'm standingQuote:
The Irish Independent had a piece on Saturday saying that Cork City are threatening to boycott the Cup Final if they don't get more money. Don't believe a word of it, they'll be there as it's their only route to Europe.
But make sure you're there too. During a recent trip up there on Saturday, there's only one covered stand so make sure you get the correct tickets, you know what our weather in December can be like.
Also book your Supporters' Club bus tickets as son as you can too. Ring poor auld Liam on 087 6141926 , but not after midnight from the pub, please. The Supporters' Club have bought large and medium flags which are selling well so get yours , we're actually selling them cheaper than for the last Cup Final. Don't buy off hawkers as the Club won't benefit.
Yeah, the supporters club notes from the website are the place to find how the Committee are thinking and what they are doing...
I'll do my 'care in the community' bit for you then, and quote the bits of Longford fans complaining on this thread that have somehow managed to pass you by :
P.S. My first ever use of Multi-quote ! :) Thanks DaHamsta !
My read on the situation, both Longford protestors notwithstanding, is that Longford are happy enough to go along behind Cork if it may mean extra money, but have no intention of boycotting the cup final, or complaining in public about the money on offer - probably because they're happy enough with what they'll get.
My point about the supporters club is not that they reflect the committee's view, but rather that they represent the view of Longford supporters.
Anyone else get the feeling that Arkaga are a bunch of penny pinching misers. For all their brash talk at the start it doesn't look like they're going to release the funds that would enable Cork to compete financially with Pats & Bohs over the next few years.
