"ppl" (text speak isn't allowed on foot.ie) do it for every film. There is a plot summary of every film and every tv episode. If you're on Wikipedia reading a section entitled "Plot Summary" what do you expect to find?Quote:

Sort of. Generally that sort of summary is at the very start of wikipedia pages. Anything marked "summary" or similar is typically quite detailed.Quote:

I've heard actual, real-life people think it was merely good, and read a few critics who disliked it - most of whom seem to have a fetish for Tim Burton and/or Caesar Romero. I don't know what film they went to see. I read one which claimed that the Batman character had no great drama, that his personal crosses to bear weren't readily identifyable to the common man, that he was no Hamlet. Now, I'm no great Shakespeare fan, but I know my Hamlet. What personal tragedies has he to cope with? A murdered father, a trollip of a mother and being done out of the throne of Denmark. Yep, far more tragic than Batman, far more identifiable for the public!Quote:

I want to try to put a little perspective on the film. I found Batman's hand-to-hand fighting a little dull - mostly down to the editing. He's less the terrifying ninja menace in the dark of Batman Begins and more a direct physical presence.
Some of the gadgets made me squirm a bit for their implausibility - but I'm an engineer - it's a curse. This was true of Begins too, but a little more so here.
Your milage may vary with the philosophical exchanges between Alfred and Wayne and between Gordon and Batman. They can be a little too blunt - whacking the audience over the head with the message. Some people prefer their messages to be in the plot, not the dialogue. Again, this was true of Begins too,
MINOR SPOILERS AHEAD
There were a few slightly odd jumps - one that comes to mind is Batman going from the Gordons' house to the interrogation of one of Joker's goons - there just isn't enough time given he can't have known where it was. Nolan did something similar in Batman Begins - the end of the chase where Batman's trying to rush Rachael to the Batcave just doesn't make sense - one moment he's just swerved away from three squad cars and a police helicopter and the next he's racing down a lane to the Batcave.
This is all just nit-picking really, but that kind of thing takes me out of the film.
Ledger's Joker is brilliant, with perfect delivery of lines which another actor might have over- or underplayed, like the delivery of "I'm not crazy... I'm not..." during his meeting with the mob, or "That's a very poor choice of words". At the same time, he plays the role with a magnificent physical comedy - just think of his exit from the hospital.
The overbearing paranoia of the city comes across very well, I think. The score is particularly good in this regard. There's scene where a prisoner is to be transported across the city, with the expectation that the Joker will make a move on him in transit. I found myself watching every masked face, certain that one of them must be the Joker.
It's a great film, a real must see.
