I think where this falls down is that fact that not very many people go to the Sportsground except for the odd big game.

But if Connacht have a match the same weekend let alone the same night as a Galway Utd match alot of people will still have to chose which to go see. if they go to both thats €50 spent on 2 matchs over one weekend, alot to ask of people.
They have been getting pretty good crowds up at the Sportsground this season. They had about 4,000 up there for the Newcastle game and over 3,500 for Brive.
Even the Magners league games usually bring in somewhere in the region of 2,000 and more if it's against another Irish team.
A correction and apologies to my own Wexford Youths club. Season Ticket holders get in free to all our pre-season friendlies, it just wasn't clear to all at the gate for last weeks match against UCD. No problem last night against Pats and for the forthcoming games
