first up im embarrassed for you that you cant see "flyers" thrown up by the irfu such as chelsea, arsenal, barcelona and celtic to maximise the stadiums potential. why would Limerick Football Club want to maximise the stadiums potential??? as has been explained on numerous occasions to similar non limerick supporters such as yourself, Limerick Football club (for that is what we are called) are the senior team in the juristicsion and as the senior team under the governance of the governing body (FAI) would first have to be consulted or included in any such senior game being held in the juristicsion. Limerick have only mentioned one as far as i can see, sunderland as a real possibility.Quote:

Limerick confirm Sunderland friendly
According to the Limerick Leader, Sunderland will take on the League of Ireland First Division club at Thomond Park in July.
Mawhinney told the paper: ”We went over last week and spoke with Niall Quinn and everything is agreed - we have no exact date, but it will be in the last two weeks of July.
”Niall was very supportive and thinks that Sunderland and Limerick have a lot in common. We hope to be able to work with them on a couple of other areas as well.""

Humour me: What do Limerick and Sunderland have in common?
I assume we will have to pay a guarantee and rent Thomond Park. We could lose money but assuming a decent crowd and corporate sales etc we should so well. Other clubs have done well on prematch dinners and ticket sales.Quote:

Sunderland have actually played Limerick in Thomond Park before and the attendance was quite poor if I recall correctly. However many of their current fanbase here were supporting Liverpool or Man Utd then. :D
As for what we have in common, we don't need that to play a friendly match. It is an opportunity to promote the club and make some money.

Reastically Sunderland would attract around 10,000 I reckon. However, at a minimum of €35-40 a ticket, programme sales, merchandise etc, the club should make a small few quid. Good for the profile though.

1) Sell the tickets at a home game in the ground 45 minutes before kickoff.
2) Include the cost of entry into our next home game in the ticket price.
