No appearances for Celtic at all I think since they were proclaimed champions. Anyone know why? Thought he’d have gotten a few appearances for sure but doesn’t seem to even be on the bench lately. Is he injured?

Injured apparently and interesting that he hasn't signed a new contract yet which expires in 12 months unless Celtic have the option of extending it by a year.
Scored Celtic B's only goal in a 3-1 loss to East Kilbride in the Scottish Challenge Cup yesterday
Goal here at 2:33
Sort of interesting that he's wearing number 9
Would be great for his prospects of making it as a footballer if he escapes that hell hole for youth. There’s simply no plausible development pathway at Celtic
Scored for Celtic B tonight against East Kilbride in the Lowland League.
Scores his first senior goal - kind of - tonight.
Against non-league Buckie Thistle in the Cup. They play at the same level as Celtic's reserves (though Celtic are Lowland league and Buckie are Highland)
Thought Rodgers comments after the game were telling in terms of how Celtic view youth development. Basically saying he doesn't need Vata playing for the first team until he's 20 or 21, and if he feels he should be playing first team football sooner than that he should just leave.
And then they wonder why their youth players never amount to anything any more, they expect them to just turn up ready for first team football at 21, having only played in the Lowland League up to that point.
I honestly think that Evan Ferguson might be playing Lowland League football today if he'd picked Celtic instead of Brighton. With Rodgers in press conferences saying that he sees potential in him but he's still a few years away from the first team.
If he is good enough ~ Wealthier clubs than Celtic will tempt him away.
Because there are very few under 21 games relative to club games and he's up against two older players in Armstrong (a senior cap) and Emakhu who are getting decent first team minutes at their clubs, unlike Vata. Having said that, Crawford picking Johnny Kenny over him has just been a poor management call.
BBC Scottisg Gossip section today:
Celtic winger Rocco Vata, who is out of contract this summer, will turn his back on offers from Serie A clubs to sign a new deal, with father Rudi, the former Celtic full-back, confident there will be a "positive outcome" to talks about the 18-year-old's future. (Scottish Sun)
Celtic have begun contract talks with winger Rocco Vata's representatives and the 18-year-old Republic of Ireland Under-21 international is keen to extend his stay beyond the summer despite holding talks with Bologna and Como this month. (Sky Sports)

According to 'The Athletic' (whose story is being repeated elsewhere) Watford are interested in young Vata.

He's 18!
Watford have brought through or given the profile to so many excellent, skillful young players over the years and his playing style fits perfectly with the type of players they bring through best. Not sure I agree with you there at all, zero.
I presumed it was a malapropism
It was around £250k.
Brendan Rodgers is assuming that Scotland U-19 midfielder Daniel Kelly will be leaving Celtic too.
"Daniel, like Rocco, he has been offered a deal which is valued and, with the greatest respect, I have worked with young players and I know the levels of young players and where they’re at from a technical perspective and a financial perspective. .....“Rocco was offered it and he was going to be one of the three strikers at Celtic and he decided that that wasn’t going to be for him. So he then leaves. That is absolutely fine and we wish him all the very best."

A goal in pre-season for Rocco Vata against Hibs. Getting a decent run out from Watford and the support impressed with his early appearances.
Heard his dad speaking on the Hard Shoulder on Newstalk this evening about his life story, promoting his new book. Very interesting, I'd say it would be a good read
All she said was "we're delighted to have Rocco playing in our team" at the very end. I'm sure there'll be a few more interviews over the next week or two
Scores his first goal for Watford to earn a draw away to Hull City. Scored with a few mins to go after coming on as a sub.

This is all down to sub Kwadwo Baah who spins on halfway and blazes down the right and surges all the way to the byline before producing an inch-perfect cut-back into the middle for former Celtic man Rocco Vata to sweep a first-time effort home, via a touch from keeper Ivan Pandur.
Two assists and a shot off the crossbar so far today.
Caught a good chunk of this game today. Vata was excellent, if that's his level week to week he needs to be in the next squad. Molumby was his usual busy self and got a goal, a booking and a whack on the head in a "coming together", the kind he seems to get involved in in most games. Johnston got the second half but nothing was really working for him today.
Doesn't sound like we should sleep on him. Albania aren't stacked with attacking midfielders but neither are we.
Vata seems to be developing quite well
One Twitter account is saying HH is watching him and might call him up in March.
