Hiya lads,
Dave McHugh is my name, I'm a researcher with RTE Radio.
I have been following the away French match with interest, and would love to hear stories from fans who are not going via the FAI route to get their tickets (i.e. through French agencies etc...) and also what routes they are taking. It is for broadcast on Saturday morning.
Anyone interested can find out more details if they drop me a line on mchughd@rte.ie or phone 208 5244.
Thanks a mill lads!
Dave.
carrefour - thionville
are they def still on sale at auchan, were you actually in auchan? he didnt seem to think they were....
Yeah they were on sale at lunchtime so 2 hours ago. I picked up 2. Just in case our allocation is oversubscribed and i am one of the unlucky ones.
You should have picked up 4!!!
Only had a 200 eur on me and no cc.
I assumed i was gonna pick up 4 40 eur ones...
I will find out what the craic is tomorrow and if any cheaper ones
are gonna go on sale...
what a bunch of cheese eating surrender monkies ....support for the french team my a$$, they are just in it for the cash folks ...as we expected ....
http://www.seatwave.com/ireland-vs-f...09/perf/270572
and they are starting to appear all over ebay and viagogo as well.
Bottom line is the irish will get as many tickets as we want and if needs be will turn that stadium green and embarrass our hosts for a second time..the only issue is they will be walking away with our cash on the double..
Hope we have the last laugh and leave these pr1cks behind while we enjoy South Africa
nevermind :)
Really disappointing to say the least. I wonder if the French released all of their allocation today. Somehow I doubt it.
If there are that many trying to sell already, there should be enough around to get at reasonable prices at the game.
Managed to get three €80 ones through a friend studying in France. Hopefully I can get tickets through the FAI and can flog these outside the ground or on here to Irish fans who don't get FAI tickets.
So the touts won't have any tickets for the game in Croker so given we're so patriotic?
Or is that different?
Sold out according to a poster on ybig.
http://www.lequipe.fr/Football/breve...ja-vendus.html
Confirmed on l'equipe that the game is sold out. All 49,500 tickets that were on sale have been sold, with 8,500 going to the FAI and 20,000 kept aside for french clubs, sponsors etc.
Looks like there'll be a lot of people travelling without tickets, though I'm sure picking them up over there wont be much of a problem from touts.
Can somebody in the know advise who would get priority. A BB who doesnt travel and now wants a ticket or a Waiting Lister who has taken home tickets for the last 2 campaigns and travels to most of the away games . ?
Curious for obvious reasons
Boy am I glad I made it in at lunch time!
Suffice to say that if the FAI offer me anything, those that I have spare will be offered at face value to boys in green.
I'll keep my ear to the ground for other possibilities, the more of us there are, the better...
I'm praying for the most tedious, painful, boring 0-0 in history at Croker to leave us in with a shout in Paris.
Come on you boys in green...
If we're 'positive' and go for a win in Croke Park we'll expose our often fragile defence to a counter attack invovling Govou, Anelka, Henry, Benzema et al. If we sit tight, and bore them to death with a draw 0-0 in Dublin, we are extremely capable of getting a score draw there, especially as the French will consider it job done with a home game to come.
is this a guess or based on fact? the precedence for such a high demand game, basle 03, is that the sponsors etc got sorted first and there was draw made for the remainder with you getting one entry for every two bb tickets you have. id say they will do similar this time. i just hope the fai make some kind of announcement next week as if a lot of us wont get FAI tkts, or at least if theres a chance we wont, then the earlier we can start looking elsewhere the better
Agreed, however we do need to be positive in our pressure, not sitting back, take the game to them, with emphasis on keeping it tight, if that makes sense :)
I would not be upset at all with a 0-0 at home, as I also believe we are well capable of getting a 1-1 in Paris. Anything better than a 0-0 at home, happy days. Anything worst than a 1-0 to France, miracles needed.
what we could do is flood all theses sights with false bids (like with the Live8 tickerts), really high bids, force the frenchies not to sell them on there, but outside the ground, where we they'd be under more pressure to sell for a more reasonable amount.
Polster do you read any posts he was on about switzerland 03 when there was only around 3k tickets available.
Cheers JB, still think those that travel away regularily should be prioritised ahead of BB who dont travel - just my opinion but then I would think that:o.
How many made all 5 away trips - 1000 ?
How many made 4 away trips - 1500 ?
How many made 3 away trips - 2000 ?
How many made 2 away trips - 3000 ?
How many made 1 away trip - 3000 ?
All those who made a min of 2 trips guarenteed a tickets, those that made 1 into a ballot ? Thoughts ? bearing in mind that the majority of those in the first couple of catagory are likely to be BB's
The FAI's special list is (sponsors, themselves) I believe, is a set number, not a percentage. In Switzerland in 2003, this took up a huge portion of the Irish number. Then there was virtually no tickets on sale out of the home market (ie. the touts) for a game that was so vitally important. That game I bought tickets through the internet ticket company in Switzerland. I did the same the following year and ended up giving my tickets to two young conscripts in the Swiss army to invite a couple of girls they knew ;);). There was then no Irish takers.
I can't see this game being too much of a problem. Reasons: It's midweek; it's a big stadium; it's France where 60K is their max support; and there are already loads of tickets appearing for around €100 (which most of us would pay) and are still not being snapped up. None of this happened in Berne in 2003.
i usually make 2 or 3 a campaign but could only do bari this time around. i would certainly not begrudge anyone who went to more away matches than me a ticket although i would like my previous record to count for something. fingers crossed block bookers and any other regular travelers get sorted
Ive been to a good few away trips hte last few years, however i never apply for tickets as usually get them off people.
I have absoloutely no leg to stand on :D
If those numbers are accurate and I agree with you on them, then there is no reason why bbers who attended one or more away's dont get sorted. I still think all bbers will get sorted. Basel 1 was a shambles and given the number of tickets allocated for this game, I dont see the need for a ballot. If there is one, then tickets are gone walkies to sponsors, travel agents etc.
One of my work mates phoned Abbey travel this week about the packages they are running and was guaranteed €22 away end tickets. 747 are offering the same match tickets as part of their packages aparently.
I agree regular away travellers should gain some recognition - committed support of the boys in Green (though not financially backing the FAI)
Though this should not necessarily be at the expense of Block Bookers who dont travel regularly - afterall these fans are supporting the FAI (financially as well as supporting the team at home).
Like yourself, Ive not been able to travel to away games this campaign (due to a change in personal circumstances) and Paris will be my first away game, though I have attended all the home games and the few friendlies in London. Id like to think my historic travelling would count for something (but obviously there is no way the FAI can or will be able recognise that)
Ive attended 3 of our last 4 playoffs home and away - yes youve guessed it, Anfield, Brussels, Bursa but I didnt make it to Iran where we actually won!!!
Surely you guys would have no problem with me gettting a ticket - Im no jinx:D:D
Junior dont come please, dont be so selfish.
