Some had mates above in the boro, but when corbally got promoted another raft of them left. Think there's 6 ex-corbally there at the moment.

I think i will have to agree with twinkle toes on this one..But its all depending on where the game is to be played..For example as mentioned above if pike were playing the boro in the pike field there would have been a good chance it would be on as they have a fine pitch up there...But for example with ourselves to be playing balla at portland,u and everyone else knows that it ain't the best pitch in the world for holding water and it was never going to be played but we still had to wait until sunday morning to get the answer we already knew from the night before..All is needed is a bit of common sense really...What do people think on this??
ALso anyone got fixtures for the weekend??To wet out for me to go out and get the star!!!
Only reason Pikes pitch is one of the most playable throughout the years is its under pitch piping that cost an arm and a leg to have installed at the time.
Agree fully with Twinkle Toes' comment. It was on the radio on saturday that the gardai were urging extreme caution on the roads. The LDMC don't seem to realise that people do travel back to limerick for these games due to them working up the country. Now lets say somebody was travelling back to Limerick because the match hadn't been called off and was involved in a car crash and got badly injured or killed. I know its an extreme example but all I'm saying is people must be considered.
they'll have to come to some sort of arrangement on this - theres a few clubs, not just pike, who have spent big money on their pitches over the years and to have all matches called off over a weekend is very unfair to them. The amount of times this has happenend when there hasnt been a spoon full of water on the pike pitch is a joke
if a ref shows up and says the pitch is unplayable does he still get payed?
nearly sure he does
well there goes the blanket ban on games then
any fixtures for this weekend?
They get half fee. There is an arrangement with the fixtures Secretary that if the home teams ring in between 12 and 2pm on a Saturday to declare their pitch unplayable the match will be called off. The away teams ring between 2pm and 4pm to find out if their game is on or not. A reasonable arrangement I would have though and those clubs with good drainage can continue to play without fear of a blanket ban. The problem is that some clubs don't bother their ar$e ringing in and therefore both clubs have to stay in Saturday nite, get up at the dawn on Sunday and pay a referee half a fee for turning up. Ludicrous. I'm no fan of LDMC but it's unfair to blame them for last weekends farce. Clubs need to take responsibility also.
I know 2 seperate clubs that rang the fixtures secretary on Saturday afternoon and declared their pitches unplayable. The reply they got was that he could not call off any games on a Saturday until January. When asked why this was the case he gave no answer. Both games on these pitches were subsequently called off on Sunday morning. A ludicrous situation if you ask me! Just goes to highlight the bureaucracy that exists within the LDMC.
No Prem fixtures this weekend
Graham Carey (Abbey - Star Rvs)
Paddy Ryder (Westport - Star Rvs)
The squad is getting bigger anyway thats for sure.
We lost a **** load of players from the end of last season to the present day, so we can only get bigger in terms of numbers.
We easily lost the most amount of players of any of the Prem teams this season, so all signings are welcome.
any truth locky signed for kennedy park?
---------------------------
He sure did and was sent off in his first game too!
He was playing very well and all til he lost the head!
Will Graham be backup keeper like last time?
Probably,
Please explain what way you think he was messed about the last time? if he felt that way, then surely he wouldn't have come back??
I do agree however that he is a decent player and can be played anywhere on the park, from in goals to up front, so it gives us more options.
He was in goals for ye a few years ago when ye had no keeper when noddy(i think his name is) never even bothered to turn up for matchs and then when he turned up graham was dropped to the bench and when he did get the few games up front and and he scored a few he was still dropped to the bench..Never really got a good chance with ye..Is it still the same manager since the last time he played with ye...Just my opinion??
Our keepers name is Nolly, and he only failed to turn up for 3 games all that season (the same season his mother passed away).
Anyway, When Graham did play in goals he played well, but never really wanted to play in goals in the first place and told the managment that he wanted to fight for his place out field when Nolly was available.
Graham did play up front and scored a few goals that season but also didnt train a lot due to work commitments, which resulted in him losing his place.
And yes it is the same manager as it was back then (the same manager that got us promoted 2 years ago and kept us in the Prem last year, when nobody gave us a chance of staying up).!
So before you go and say things like "he was messed around a bit the last time he was there, Hope they won;t mess him about this time and he deserves a bit more respect", you should look at (or try and get) the facts!!!.
You stated above that our keeper "never bothered turning up", when in fact he was excused.
You stated above that Graham was "dropped" when our first choice keeper was back, when Graham knew he was only in goal as "back up".
You stated above that Graham "deserved more respect", when in fact he received respect from all involved over the last two season's for helping us out when we were "stuck" for a first choice keeper.
And like I said, Graham would not have came back to the club if he was taken for granted the last time around.
You are entitled to your opinion but you came on here mouthing off as if you knew what you were talking about.
Opinions are one thing, talking complete nonsense about players is another.
Its like the muppett show between the 2 of ye ..
Lets be honest Graham is barrell and the whole town knows it bar abbeyvale
who will come back and reply with some stupid facts that only he believes..
Star is probably the only premier team in town that would have signed him
And that abbeyvale is a fact u can add to all the rest of them u have :p:p
Star is probably the only premier team in town that would have signed him

True that he would struggle in Div 2b,Why did he leave abbey?
