Institue 0-7 Derry, McDaid (4), Lafferty, Molloy and McGlynn scored. Good run out for Derry against an understrength Insitute team. Derry also had a weakened team with P McElehenney, S McElehenny, McClean, Zayed and Deery sitting in the stands. McCallion and McGlynn were also only 2nd half subs.
Shaun skelly is austins younger brother, it wasnt a misprint

well we have three bars :o decent game last night. bohs looked a little rusty (not surprising as it was first game) but kept the ball down and played a bit of ball. very unlucky to go in at half time a goal down - longford keeper made a couple of decent saves - and fully deserved second half equalizer. Fagan looked a very good player for Bohs (Longford number nine also very lively) and it will have done some of the younger players no harm to get a run. Mid table obscurity looking realistic !
Primarily it was nice to get back to watching 22 players chasing a plastic thing around the pitch after all the off season fiasco. First preseason game always great before the depressing reality kicks in.
Longfords 9 was Don Cowan, I thought Forrester on the right looked decent enough for Bohs, Fagan is a really good signing
Are Mervue United in the Algarve on pre-season or is it some kind of a sick joke?
"Mervue United play local Portuguese side, Quarteirense, tonight at 9pm before wrapping up their 5day pre-season training in the Algarve"
Whats sick about that?
Nothing sick about it I'm sure they can afford it they're quite a well run club by all accounts. They don't pay their players or they pay very little so treating them well is good if they can afford it. Plenty of GAA clubs do it.
surprised it wasnt mentioned there were a few hundred at the bohs game last nite in dalyer.. and there was a vocal bohs choir too.. very impressive turnout from bohs for a friendly..
They went last season too. Not sure about this year but last time I'm nearly sure the players part funded the trip themselves and sold club lotto's etc to cover costs.
