You are right, of course. Redeveloping the stadium will take time.

There is no reason why toilets couldn't be sorted out for next season though, even a temporary cover for the away section should be straightforward.

Absolutely there are probably things they could do straight away, but even laying out the plans for what they were going to build commencing Nov17 to be ready for 2018 season would be motivational for both supporters and sponsors. nice to see your concern for us traveling hoops in the rain : )

Any word on potentially increased stock of minerals and crisps?

Whichever smart buck says they won't need them because we're not going to be visiting is bringing a plague upon their house.

I think the most suprising part in the grand old lady of oriels history is that there have been more cork entities/franchises in its time that actual Irish presidents

Louth Council are looking for €450k in planning levies for the large shed in Oriel Park. If the club take over the lease from the previous owner they want to get this cash from the club.

Apart from the headline news, the interview suggests that the retained profit from the Euro adventure could be a lot less then many thought

If I was them playing hardball with the council over rates etc, the owner of the ground over a settlement figure and the players over new contracts I'd be playing it down too.

There is no way that the Europa League will cost Dundalk €3m. This is just a negotiating tactic.

I guess it depends how much of a bonus the players negotiated for themselves, but yeah, you'd imagine it's nonsense.

Is it 5.7m (as stated) or 6.7m (as I thought we had here) they get?

CL play off; €3mill
For not reaching CL groups: €500k
EL group stage: €2.4mill
Group draw: €120k

So... so far they've earned €6.72 million in prize money

(they've also had home gates from the 3 games they've played of course)

That's because Dundalk have all their players.
If you look at the Dundalk squad the majority are Dubs.
No wonder there are no decent Dublin teams.
When Dublin City folded they moved to Dundalk :)
