The 1st photo was fine for me.Didn't need the 3rd one at all....... ;)
So Peadar has a rival now?
Third photo is great, Joe! The goalposts look a bit dodgy though...
Isn't it fab to be able to just take a morning off like that?
Also since my last post (ha!) the sun has shone brightly in this fair city of ours. Can they change the weather as fast as THAT in Helsinki, Peadar?
Gerry
You've sold your soul to the media.
That contemporary and somewhat adstract flair you showed in the first shot is completely void in the "Money Shot".
Another young hopeful swallowed up by the corporate machine
:(
On a serious note though it's a pity there's so many posts holding it up but I suppose the restrictions of the size of the area meant that this is the best they can do.
Hope the tickets warn of restricted views.
The posts are back against the wall, though, so they shouldn't have much effect.
If I was out of the console room/server room long enough I might be able to tell you.Quote:

The last time I flew home from Helsinki I was unfortunate enough to sit next to a Finnish man who was after half a bottle of whiskey and wanted more. Anyway he said that he loved Ireland because if you didn't like the weather you could just wait a minuet and it would change. They're obsessed with whiskey over here.
Place a nice big roof on the St Annes End & the ground won't be half bad & the noise should be kept in a bit better.
BTW wasn't there some plans for a TV box under or over the stand? Would be a lot better if they dropped onto that new roof on the Derrynane Road side to point at the stand?
Is that just scaffolding in the picture so or am I imagining the posts being closer to the front than the back of the stand?Quote:

I think you must be imagining things - how you ever got a photo published in City's programme is beyond me :p
There are plans to put a tv box on top of the Donie Forde Stand. Not sure what's happening with that at the moment though.
Still we're getting closer to building a retractable roof each day! still no sign of floodlights though

I'll have you know Peadar is strongly influenced by my mid-80s style.
Also I happen to know the editor. Not sure yours would make it into the programme, on the evidence to date :D But keep trying...
Gerry
I think most people will have realised (hopefuly!) that my forte lies in writing rather that photography.
Keep trying Joe and maybe someday you'll rediscover your form.
Maybe James could bring you to an Illen Celtic game where you could study the game at it's most basic level!
I think you're an excellent snapper, Joseph! :DQuote:

There's a cover shot in you yet...even Peadar makes in it, when the price is right!
Gerry
so the programme guys are paying for contributions these days, eh?
:D
Well, we have a limited budget of twelve bags of crisps and 33 back issues, but we're hopeful of stretching that through the season. It's our attractive bribes like this that ensure the standard of guest writing is so high. We'd have a lot more to offer only Roddy Forsyth cost us six bags of Taytos, our only two Mars bars and a copy of City v Galway United.Quote:

The more I look at your first shot again, the more I feel like using it on the cover v Swansea or Scarborough - a real exclusive that one...
Gerry
hey watch it Boez fan;)Quote:

Celtic are one of the west cork leagues newest and most up and coming clubs
I mean we dont have players like Hartigan playing for us but were doing our best.fair enough were relegated this year, but we had some shocking ref decisions go against us and some bad injuries. No doubt we will bounce back up to the premier this year.
at least now we have the skibb div 1 derby to look forward to
:D
I seem to recall that last year's City V Scarborough match programme wasn't edited by yourself, so what makes you think this year's one would be??????????Quote:

Jeez, Joe, I'm cut to the quick by that retort...:(
Gerry the deeply hurt editor
PS: No Taytos for you after that...
I'm sorry Gerry. I guess I just crossed the line. What can I do to make it up to you? Maybe I can give you a copy of the Scarborough programme?
I just knew the Taytos would get to you, I just knew it!!
BTW, I have the Scarborough issue - it's really brill (not)...
Also just heard they're cutting the grass @ the X; any chance you could pop over...?:D
Gerry
check your mail Gerry
the groundsman has just sent round an email to everyone saying he has cancelled cutting the grass till after lunch
the sun is out now and you expect me to just drop everything and run over to the Cross to get a photo of a man cutting the grass?
btw check your e-mail

You'll do fine in the States ya big liar :p
And who said forums get into cliques ;)
Bad news for me is that I've just started to build a Compaq ProLiant 8500 with Win2K and after that I have to install Exchange 2K so I wont get to Tallinn in time for the Bohs game.
For such a small fella I carry many people!
No, I don't think it would have been Jackie.
Probably Joe sneaking through the gate in disguise to get some more shots...he's determined to outdo Peadar! There's a strong wind blowing now, so he's more than likely gonna capture that. He may also be yellow packing for Academy Street, for all we know.
Gerry
don't blow my coverQuote:

There was a fire in one of the other buildings so evreyone was sent home. I'm currently looking for something to set on fire in this building. I wish I was a joyrider from Tallagh, then I'd have a car to burn out.
just light up a fag and set off the smoke alarms. i'm sure no one will know it was you.
...the Finnish cigarette police! So, are you definitely missing the Tallinn trip, Peadar? They might hold the ferry if they knew you were from West Cork...they might even delay the ko!
Gerry
that remains me of the time i rang up St. Colman's Park to find out what time kick-off was and they replied 'What time can you get here for?'
:D
...there's a guy painting a wall in the X. Any chance Joe? Thought not!
Gerry
Definately missing the Tallinn trip.Quote:

The next ferry would have me in for 20:40 with the game due to end at 20:15
An engineer came in to fix an array controller and he brought a NIC with him. It was a funny sight to see him try to walk out to his car with the NIC protruding from his rear end. He'll bring the right card with him the next time I'll tell ya.
Win2K is gone on so I'm starting Exchange 2K and then I'm off to try and find a bar with Estonian TV.
Some chance of that I'd imagine.
Joe I'm still laughing at the St Colemans Park story :D
...he didn't make it up, either!:D
Gerry
