Hoy 'bout "The Championship"?
How about the Justice League of America?
National League sounds too GAA-esque.
It has to be something catchy and original.
I think the 'PremEireShip' would be a nice hybrid name :)
I-League; as soon as I saw it looked fetching and did like the sound of it, but agree with the Oz and Japan comparisons..sort of looks a bit cheap copying the theme- However- there are only 'X' amount of permutations you can have for the top league- 'super league', 'premier', 'division 1', etc, so I suppose whatever is chosen is likely to be in similar vain to an existing theme..
How about
FAI Eircom Irish Premier
FAI Eircom Irish First Division.
So crazy it might just work.
We should be able to take 'Irish League.' By far the best name in my opinion.
*Sulks*
or...
The Irish Football Experience Featuring Damien Richardson
:D
The Human League
Alan Kelly would fit right in! :D
I dont think we should worry about being confused with the Nordie league. No one outside of Belfast knows it exists anyway.
we are the league of ireland, therefore the Irish league.
same way as we would call the league in Sweden the swedish league rather than wat its called
That might be a problem seen as the North call their league the Irish League
We could claim they didn't inform us, or at least failed to do so at the correct time, and then steal the name anyway. :)
or we could play the trump card if they object
'so your admitting ye's are irish then after all are ye's'
they wouldnt know what hit them :p
Language people, children are reading, next person to use the profanity A**n K**ly will get a stiff talking too
Has to be the I-League
IPL - Irish Premier League, just like the SPL and WPL
Oh- question: Am i the only one on here that thinks the I-League sounds bent?
No I agree,I-League sounds bent
I'm just posting again to get rid of my 333posts just incase it's bad luck on me or the hoops tonight
I think 666 is considerably more than bad luck...
Raheny Red, in cricketing circles any multiple of 111 (a "Nelson" - from the erroneous belief that Admiral Nelson had one eye, one arm and one leg, when in fact he enjoyed a full complement of legs) is considered bad luck. This is the only superstition I observe. :o
Hold on here- wasn't Nelson famous for winning- I don't see how the leap is made to it being bad luck! Sure he lost a few bits along the way, but the man had a seriously good record. Unlucky he was not.
The term "Nelson" was attached to the superstition retrospectively for the reasons listed above. I think it's considered an unlucky score because Australia have been dismissed for 111 (a low aggregate for a team) on several prominent occasions.
But on a side-note, get someone to chop your arm off and see how lucky you feel afterwards!
im lost....
