Mungret 5 - 0 Holycross
its the players that play the game and stops with them alone. dont think it matters about who new manager is going to be we need to buck up and start putting teams away and beliving in our selfs more as i said theres some amazing players out here and they will come good. remember this season we have two teams being brought together to play as one so it will happen
It was the easiest game I ever was apart of, I think the closest Holycross came to forcing the keeper to make a save was a shot from 40 yards that rolled into his hands. I was talking to him afterwards and he said the hardest thing about the game was the warm-up. I don't think they would have noticed if he went home for a while and came back again.:D
I wasn't being a smug git, I was just making a simple comment on the match, can a person not make his opinion made without some randomer getting onto his back, im sure if pike beat them by that much or that easily you would be on about it being a smug git...........
never rated him:D
Not at all mate. I just can't stand people who put other teams down. I mean everyone and his brother knows that your a lot stronger than Holycross. The gracious thing to do would have been to say they gave it their best and ye just had too much for them. Confidence I admire, but arrogance I despise.
When refereein the Boro v Cals Fai game , Got talking to Boro Guy and he said (when found out i used to work in Ballyneety driving Range he put two and two together and came up with 35.) that few years back that a scots guy from ballyneety was recommended to management to check out. I was standing there proud as punch Boro wanted to look at me then it click... There was another scots guy working beside me at Ballyneety at that time my good friend Grieg McSporran (class scots name) Midfielder.
Now i have read all these threads about how good a player is and is best in town... in my eyes this lad would have walked onto any team in Limerick. He was a class act , young (24) ,skillful , strong , very fast , Former Scottish Schoolboy Internationalist and could score goals for fun.... I left the Boro lad thinking it was me though i enjoyed the attention :D
Whatever happened to Grieg McSporran ?
He went back to Scotland Mid 2006, haven't heard from him for a while . might actually try to contact him soon... But i'm not joking he would have walked out to any team he was that good. :)
Not sure if anyone remembers playing against him , he did play with Holycross for year got injured half way through season

The question is who will measure the pitch ????
Should be a good game on sunday between ourselves and carew, it'll be a test for us to see how we match up against a premier team. Both teams will be wanting to play good open passing football, so heres to a good match and hopefully we'll come out on the right side of the result....:ball: :D
Champions Leeside won their preliminary round 7.1 against postal.
Hopefully the start of a long road back to the final!

By my reckoning Towelie you'll have to beat Carrigaline away then Douglas Hall away (who did well in cups last year) and then probably host current Cork AUL champions Grattan just to get out of cork!!! Talk about a tough defense of the trophy. That said to beat Postal by 6 goals is impressive...
Cheers Innish it doesn't get much tougher than that!
Don't know much about carrigaline other than they have 3 on the munster junior panel so they must be good.
Douglas Hall beat us the last 2 years in the FAI.
And of course Grattan the league champions after that...
We wont be looking that far ahead just yet though. The carrigaline game will be treated like the final.Any less effort and we could be dumped out.
