It would certainly raise the standard. There are about 8 good sides in the Eircom League and about 4 in the Carnegie League. It would certainly help Linfield playing Drogheda/Cork/Derry than playing glorified amateur sides such as Limavady/Armagh/Institute. Lesser teams can drag quality sides down to their level. I fear Linfield are currently being dragged down by the very poor standard of the rest of the league.Quote:
