The English attitude to Gridiron is a lot like the Irish attitude to League football. Cannot be arsed to attend the Eircom League but stage a Premier League game here and you'd stuff the place. The analogy between NFL and World League of American Football and European American Football Leagues are I think apt.Quote:

It was a washout, the funniest part for me was seeing a big fat fcupper running onto the pitch, like all the other "athletes" and coming off again 2 mins later. Anyhow enough on how stupid a game it is, but it was a "washout", in more ways than one, even though the commentators tried to make out how packed it was right the way through, nearly half of the people had left by the last quarter due to the rain ( and from reports from the media in america, lots of yanks that flew over stayed in the pub instead of going! ) etc. It put a dampener on things no end, and don't believe the hype that it was a "huge success" it was nothing near it.
