Lying about being fit in Japan when he wasn't let every single one of us down. Just like other members of the party let us down too, like the manager, the captain, the FAI & the boozers. Thank God that all appears to be in the past.
Anyway, I copied the article because I thought a few of his comments were interesting. The acceptance of limited ambition, even 2 years after Saipan, says a lot. And although I think Mick did a lot of good work with players like Cunningham, Breen, Kilbane etc. it's churlish of McAteer to dismiss Kerr's contribution.
BUT...my positive thoughts about McAteer outweigh the negatives by a long way & it's hardly his fault that a drinking culture and a lack of ambition prevailed.
