Anybody know what games are on/off tommorrow? Want to plan to see which one i will go watch. If any with this weather!!
Can`t see many pitches holding up after the rain we got today, surely the league should have called games off by now if they were going to.
All games are going ahead tomorrow though some pitches wont be playable, its in the lap of the gods
Newcastle West Rovers V Askeaton, off pitch unplayable.
Pics from NCW v Broadford this morning. 0-0 at half time when I left.
Weather was terrible, but the pitch was holding up really well.

Any predictions here lads ????????
Thread gone a bit dead latley
Draw
Home win
Draw
Home win
Home Win : Ive seen them both this year and they are both rubbish
Home Win : Again both are rubbish, Picked Abbey though because as bad as they are they still are not as brutal as Carrig
Away Win : Title decider with Askeatons luck finally running out
Home Win : SHANNONSIDE HAVE COME INTO FORM
Away win- Broadford - Have improved through most of the season and have their footballers.
Home win- Abbeyfeale- Carrig aren`t up to much
Draw/Away win- Rathkeale will be well up for this after a poor result last week,
Home win-Shannonside-Had a good win at home against Glin last week and will want that to continue
Glin V Broadford - Hard to call, but id go for a home win 1-0
Abbeyfeale V Carrig Celtic - Abbeyfeale 4-0
Askeaton V Rathkeale - Rathkeale to win 2-0, I kind of Agree luck for Askeaton has to run out
Shannonside V NCW Rovers - Shannonside Possibly, Have not seen Rovers so il go for a home win 2-1
What do other people think? I dont think NCW A are out of the league yet.
glin v broadford.. Ill go for a 1-1 draw.. Abbeyfeale v carrig celtic.. 3-0 to abbeyfeale askeaton v rathkeale.. Tough game but id say 2-1 to rathkeale... Shannonside v ncw rovers..Another close game 3-2 to Shannonside
Glin 2 Broadford 2
Abbeyfeale 3 Carrig Celtic 1
Askeaton 1 Rathkeale 2
Shannonside 3 NCW Rovers 1
Everyone singing off the same hymn sheet almost for the weekend, I will stick to my predictions but I think there will be more goals in the askeaton V rathkeale match both good attacking sides.
I dont think results in these games will shape the outcome of the league trophy, still be very close going into 2010 as no one can really pull away.
Newcastle are getting wins back to back every week now and looking settled again.
Shannonside are putting it together now too. Winning is a habit as they say, You could see alot of draws this season, wins will be so valuable.
Its great stuff really for the league.
Desmond cup should produce some good draws next year some very decent sides in Div 1 this season
This suspension thing is a joke when referees can hand out yellow cards for nothing, god be with the days when you had to earn your booking, we are all big boys playing a physical game, no wonder it gets bad press against rugby and GAA.
And this year its down to 4 yellows. We dont have massive squads to fill the gaps
There would't be half as much diving across channel if the ref's kept the cards in their pocket a little longer, a fair hard challange is a thing of the past and something we all learned from when we started http://foot.ie/forums/images/icons/icon9.gif
Hairy Legs, I agree with you 100% percent, Are you still playing by the way? If it keeps going the way it is going it will be non contact. But i think alot of Refs are giving yellow for mouthing. Im sorry but ive never seen so many whinging players in the league, they do give refs alot of grief and its hard to blame them for giving out yellow cards. On another note, if one was stuck for cash its a handy way of getting a few quid together. If you did three matches a weekend thats 150 euro at least. Nothing wrong with that. So lets say 60 matches a year is a handy 3 grand. Thats if you were thick skinned enough to put up with the grief
Yes still playing Johnny, just about
I remember starting to play junior soccer and you would be rattled left right and centre every sunday and I loved it. It toughens you up.
I agree there is alot of whinging but refs should just get on with it and if it persists warn him and then book him or give a free against him, after 3 or 4 frees he wouldnt be long about shutting his mouth, but i have seen players get booked for a first offence of giving out which is rubbish, its the nature of the game all over the world, at pro level they tell the ref to F off and still dont get booked...... donie gorman can let it go for ages but he is the only one who has probably played the game, and played it hard too i might add, so he understands
Alot of the time the ref gets it wrong and that causes players to react, they dont get it wrong in rugby too often so players have no complaints, plus their captain can approach the ref about it. In the desmond league if you approached a ref regarding a decision he would tell you to get away from him
I used to play with creeves myself in my hay day. Your dead right twas alot tougher game and better for it, fields didnt help either then as they were mudbaths. Do you notice years ago matches would be played no matter what the weather was now if it is drizzling they call them off. Donie is a good ref now in fairness, Ger O Donnell a fella clubman of mine was a fine player and in fairness he is a good ref too i think. Who do you play for Hair?
Winners of newcastle west v camp united are away to regional united in 5th round of fai junior cup
I totally agree with ye lads about the whole ref thing a yellow card these days is for the littlest thing its a complete joke. Half the refs on a Sunday morning either don't be fully awake yet or something else;). We had a ref last Sunday in Listowel and he must have been on a bonus for handing out yellows.
