Thought they would be more Exitement !!!
Were Through People !!!!
More tragic news from Jamaica, where Bob Kerr, a popular former Chairman and President of the ICU, has died at his hotel aged 68.
Thats Saddening, I must say I did not know of him, but when looking up on him, it is a tragic shame. He would of been proud that Ireland qualified from the group in their 1st World Cup.
RIP
You can guess what his first question to St Peter was.
Ireland's Super 8 schedule looks as follows so far:
March 30 v England, Guyana
April 3 v S.Africa, Guyana
April 9 v N. Zealand, Guyana
April 13 v Australia, Barbados
April 15 v Sri Lanka/India/Bangladesh,Barbados
April 18 v Sri Lanka/India/Bangladesh,Barbados
There's a couple of cracking games in the next few days:
Ireland v West Indies and India v Sri Lanka tomorrow, Australia v South Africa on Saturday
Slight change:
April 15 v India/Bangladesh
April 18 v Sri Lanka/Bangladesh
If India qualify, they'll take the B2 place and play us on the 15th, if Sri Lanka qualify, they'll take the B1 place and play us on the 18th. If Bangladesh qualify, they'll take the place of whichever of the other two doesn't.
In the unlikely event that we beat the West Indies would that change our super 8 schedule? Presumably that would mean we top our group.
It might just happen, super confident Ireland versus a relaxed Windies, ya never know. Who'd have though we'd get this far (or the the cricket world cup thread would have nearly 450 posts)!
Fair enough thanks for the clarification.
I can't wait to get hammered by those teams except Engaland, Oh, I mean Kenya. ;)
What are Canada like at the moment ?
He Gone
Not a bad strike rate after 30 balls
I think Trent Johnson and Boyd Rankin will be rested
tomorrow. We need both of them at full fitness for the Super 8s. It'll give a few of the fringe players a chance. It would be nice to win and maybe the Windies might be to relaxed. The group winners take 2 point into the Super 8's
We're not playing the Brits yet, as England still have to qualify, and Kenya have a chance to beat them.Quote:

Woolmer death treated as murder
Police in Jamaica have launched a murder investigation into the death of Pakistan cricket coach Bob Woolmer.
Following the results of a post mortem examination, police said Mr Woolmer had died of asphyxia as a result of manual strangulation.
The chief police commissioner appealed for anyone with information to come forward.
Woolmer, 58, was found in his hotel room on Sunday, the day after his team lost to Ireland in the World Cup.
That's sensational news.
The Pakistan media manager nonchalantly threw a small firework into the mix by saying that Woolmer was worried about proofs of his book that went missing. Something about that they were the only proofs of the book.
Sky sports are coming out with 5 theories every 2 minutes, they'll have it solved by morning.
I'm sure there's a perfectly reasonable explanantion to all this.........
India v Sri Lanka is the main game on sky sports. Damn you NTL for not having interactive tv, as the Ireland game is available for sky subscribers.
Windies will not be looking forward to playing us they are a shadow of their former selves and will be lucky to make it out of the super 8 group.
Funny, i thought this morning they advertised Ireland v the Windies as the game being covered live on SS1!?? W**kers!!
As for the super 8's i fully expect the windies not to make the semi finals, can see the last four being Australia, SA (bankers) and the remaining two places being Sri lanka/India (depending on who gets through today) & New Zealand.
Should be a great round of fixtures now as i'd expect the top sides to step up a gear!
Koh
Koh
I'd say the majority of the Northerners have British passports and consider themselves British
Either way no more political discussion on the thread please lads...
You're obviously new to the game pete if you think its not taxing for bowlers
Anyway, its not that they are tired, its that they have slight injuries and another couple of days rest could help them get back to full fitness for the other games.
No one mentioned injuries. Its only 10 overs per game anyway & neither player bowled full complement last weekend. :o
Latest: Johnston is out injured & Rankin passed fit.
This is effectively the Super 8 at this stage so resting player for this game seems no different than first 'official' Super 8 game?
Good news for those of you with NTL/Chorus. Sky have te Ireland game as the main game now...
Good stuff.
