Yeah but Roy has already been over to England and failed to make the grade. Doyle had a completely different footballing development (much better, in my opinion).

Sunderland have many poor forwards but also have lots of them. I think he should have gone to Fulham I think a lot of City fans agree.
How long before he makes the Ireland squad? :o
very true, pre injuries O'Flynn was magic
IMO Doyle has a far more balanced personality compared to O'Donovan (anyone thats read his Mirror colum would know) plus he has that nasty streak in him (I remember a very late and high challenge on Dan Connor last year)
That said I wish him the best of luck, hope he makes it, would be great pulicity for the league
btw expect him to be in the next ireland squad without question:rolleyes:
In the Sunderland Echo that O'Donovan has signed. Keane has stated he'll go straight into the squad & ruled out any hope of him ruturning to Cork City.
BTW O'Donovan is better than Daryl Murphy and he seemed to be doing OK for himself over at Sunderland.
Either way good luck to the lad
ive missed nearly this whole thread so will just ask rather then read it true....what are the terms of the deal??
When was the last time an eL side transferred 2 players into Premiership first teams squads in 6 months?
Its s slow process but transfer fees rising gradually. If O'Donovan has even half the impact of Doyle the league will be flooded by Premiership scouts.
