If Bono paid his taxes I'm sure some of it would go to cancer research.
I could only manage half of it. Verses aren't bad but the chorus' are very weak. The Hallelujah comparison is a fair cop and all.Quote:

Saw that late late and felt sorry for ronnie drew who had to sit through that.

Song is rubbish but i hope it raises some money for the cancer research agree though if bono paid his taxes it would raise far more than the song ever will.
Do people honestly believe that Bono is not giving a **** load of money to charities himself. However U2 in the 80s announced that they were giving money to local inner city projects in Dublin and were slaughtered by the press for that. So what they do now is that any money they give to charity is kept in private.
Bono's contribution to charities is far higher than any tax he is avoiding by legally basing his publishing company in Holland.
Terrible song though and Ronnie Drew seemed to like it and Irish people are a cynical bunch as it is and nobody is more cynical that an internet forum poster.

Bono does not bang on about giving his money to Charity that is the point I was making. What he bangs on about his structural change and a dropping of debt that prevents countries in Africa from ever helping themselves and always relying on charity. He is using the stupid thing we have which is celebrity for a worthwhile cause but sure the cynics like to slag these things while the press rave over true wasters such as Pete Doherty who is ****ing his life up against a wall.Quote:
