If Bono paid his taxes I'm sure some of it would go to cancer research.
This man deserves such a better song.
It's down there with the likes of We're sending our love down the well.
Anyone in disagreement?
Also, are they not leaving the Irish Cancer Society open to loyalty claims from Leonard Cohen re:Hallelujah?
City definetly have the best bands playing at half-time.
O'Bama - "Eerah yeah, I'd say we can alright!"
G.O'Mahoney Trapattoni'll sort ém out!!
If Bono paid his taxes I'm sure some of it would go to cancer research.
TO TELL THE TRUTH IS REVOLUTIONARY
The ONLY foot.ie user with a type of logic named after them!
All of this has happened before. All of it will happen again.
" I wish to God that someone would be able to block out the voices in my head for five minutes, the voices that scream, over and over again: "Why do they come to me to die?"
ChristHorrific Stuff. Poor old Ronnie. What did he ever do on any of that lot ?
Out for a spell, got neglected, lay on the bench unselected.
Ronnie deserved much better than this self-indulgent caterwaul.
A woeful dirge. Resembles the sound of a pet shop burning down.
Quoting years at random since 1975
...i've only heard it once but it was failry pitiful alright. Did anyone understand what the hell Shane McGowan was saying.
I'm no judge of crowds ted but i'd say there's about seven million of them out there...
Anyone catch them doing this on the Late Late? That constant shame Bono seemed like he was doubled over in pain whilst singing, Shane McGowan still surprises me with his state of living, Sinead O'Connor seemed nervous as usual, and Pat Kenny didn't even know who Kila were from the looks of it. The only thing that made it worthwhile was Ronnie Drew being there himself to show he's fighting hard against the cancer, although Pat nearly ruined that as well by rubbing Drew's head when he said that his hair was starting to grow back.
Someone should tell Bono that saying things like Ronnie Drew is as important as Jimi Hendrix doesn't do anyone any favours either
Saw that late late and felt sorry for ronnie drew who had to sit through that.
Every story any of the told was like "me and ronnie had 20 pints here" or "he had been drinking all day" Made him sound like an old alco.
Song is rubbish but i hope it raises some money for the cancer research agree though if bono paid his taxes it would raise far more than the song ever will.
Do people honestly believe that Bono is not giving a **** load of money to charities himself. However U2 in the 80s announced that they were giving money to local inner city projects in Dublin and were slaughtered by the press for that. So what they do now is that any money they give to charity is kept in private.
Bono's contribution to charities is far higher than any tax he is avoiding by legally basing his publishing company in Holland.
Terrible song though and Ronnie Drew seemed to like it and Irish people are a cynical bunch as it is and nobody is more cynical that an internet forum poster.

However bad the song is and it is bad, what was Plank Kenny like pandering to one and all except Shane McGowan on friday? Did you see the look on his face when he started talking to Shane and realised the state he was in so he hotfoots to the nearest person (who was Patsy Watchorn) and says something like 'Hi Kila its great to have you here'
Bono does not bang on about giving his money to Charity that is the point I was making. What he bangs on about his structural change and a dropping of debt that prevents countries in Africa from ever helping themselves and always relying on charity. He is using the stupid thing we have which is celebrity for a worthwhile cause but sure the cynics like to slag these things while the press rave over true wasters such as Pete Doherty who is ****ing his life up against a wall.

I am sure if you do a bit a research on the matter you will find out pretty quickly enough.

Well thats it keep on closing your mind the same way you have the case closed. I think you are probably afraid to do the research on the matter as it will go against your own pre conceived ideas on the issue. But sure Irish bitterness is alive and well it seems.

Grand if you want to engage at that level fair enough but you are on your own. However if you are prepared to actually find the facts on the issue come back to me.
