What particular expertise are these people bringing?:confused:
Well the 5 categories are finance, safety, legal, sporting administration
and infrastrucutre so I presume they are looking at how other sports
manage to get these right.
Also the committee is to be masde up of people independent of the FAI

What do they do? "Study" a lot of matches on Sky Sports? ;)
Is there any chance the above committee could be appointed to the FAI Council while the Government appoints officers from the civil service, business and former Irish managers such as Eoin Hand, John Giles and Liam Brady (i.e. Celtic) instead of the current crew.
If the FAI want expertise on Sports administration, surely they can do better than a past President (which is a honary title) of an amateur game?
When Murphy was around, rugger looked down on professional players and somehow managed to believe they were all "gentlemen". Can't see what this guy brings to the table except a superior attitude.
Maybe the Basketball admin is a good choice, as she is in charge of sport which has a mix of amateur/semi & fully pro players.
