    iPod repair: Dublin

    Right lads,

I frazzled my ipod by soaking it.

I replaced the battery and that was a temporary fix, it would play music which makes me think the HD is okay, but the battery wouldn't hold charge.

I thought maybe I had fixed the replacement battery wrong, tried to check it again tonight but on replacing it "Charging, please wait".

Anyone know of any reasonable third party stores in the city centre or Northside for ipod repair?

Tifo poles, sausage rolls and a few goals.

I've used MacTivate - http://www.mactivate.ie/service.html - before, really good service. I'd definitely recommend them if you're anywhere around Blanchardstown
They will ask if your iPod is under warranty, so before calling the warranty on apple.com here: https://selfsolve.apple.com/GetWarranty.do

I have already invalidated my warranty by opening the ipod(my bad).

they'll still repair it for you, but it'll cost more.
might be easier to get a new one altogether

If the hard disc was gone, I'd agree.

However the fact that it still played music when I fitted the new battery gives me hope. Worth at least getting a quote methinks.

Why don't you try putting it in the car door and slamming it shut?

Well sure I meant it knew what to get you for Christmas....

Got a quote of €90 no fix no fee today so may go with that.
