    Google Wave

can anyone give me a rundown of what this is?

Only thing I can find online is a 90 minute google video and thankfully I'm able to say I have better things to do with my time than watch that

I hear it's invite only too?

It's just web-based email, IM and social networks merged, basically, with things like media built-in. I'm looking for an invite if anyone has one, professional curiousity.

I managed to bag an invite, but I don't really know a)what to do or b)who to wave at!

I don't have any invites though.

Hmmmmm.....Google generally do good stuff, but it sounds a bit like the new Twitter.

Which, IMO is a method of communication developed by and for ADHD sufferers.

I think I'll reserve judgement for the minute.

Far more important is Google's announcement that they are going to start offering free turn-by-turn Sat Nav. This could be epic and effectively destroy Garmin, Tom Tom etc.

But if anyone has a wave going spare, I wouldn't say no

Wave is absolutely nothing like Twitter ORA. If something could be the opposite of Twitter, it would be Wave.

Unfortunately I'm not sure anything can be the opposite of a steaming pile of crap.

It's either a gimmick, little more than a bunch of cats taped together, or it'll prove a revolutionary consolidation of the communication tools available on the internet.

Probably the former. Email needs to be rebooted to kill off all the spam, but Wave ain't the answer.

Holy crap. Taping a bunch of cats together is a brilliant idea.

The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.
