Minimum of 5 goals in each FD match tonight in a notoriously goal-shy division. What odds would one have gotten on an over 4.5 goal quadruple bet?! Probably enough to make sure you wouldn't work for a year.

Shels got me out of jail last night, phew. Mervue get 2 men sent off and score 2 own goals to ensure -1 is a winning bet.

          Athlone Town -V- Wexford Youths

I shouldn't really be getting involved in this match considering I have Wexford to finish ahead of Athlone in a season match bet but I just can't ignore the Youths tonight. The bookies were going 6/5 on a away win early in the week and that has now shortened with Wexford odds on. However, they are drifting on Betfair and are a very backable 2.24. Wexford got an amazing result away to Fingal on Monday evening and if they can do them then they should have no worries facing a woeful Athlone side. Athlone haven't won a game since 30th of May and they haven't won a home game since the 14th of March, their only home win of the season . In their last fixture they were playing against 9 men for over an hour and still lost. The game before that they lost 6-1. If that isn't enough for you then read this. Injury and Flu leaves “Town” struggling for Youths http://www.athlonetownfc.ie/?p=866.

          Backing Wexford @ 2.24 (Betfair) 1.5pts.

Backing Wexford is asking for trouble. They are incredibly inconsistent.

In their last 2 away games they'd won at Fingal and Shels but in their last home game they couldn't beat Longford!

If you ignore their amazing results against the top 2 their recent form hasn't been great. They have an incredible ability to raise their game against the top teams - this seems to have been the case since they joined the league - I think I remember them beating Harps and Cobh the year the 2 of them were promoted.
I phoned the speaking clock to hear a voice speak, it said - "At the tone you will be very much alone"

Very true JC. On the other hand Monaghan, who are also mid table have only taken 1 pt in total from the top 4 but have only lost 1 game all season to a non top-4 team. Limerick were backed into 1.7 at home to Monaghan on Friday but Monaghan kept up their great record against non-top-4 teams.

Yeah I know but you just had to look at how poor this Athlone side are. How many games they went without a win and that the only home game they won was their very first. There was no way you could have backed Athlone going into that game unless you knew something very worthwhile.

Powers offering 23/10 on City at home to Bohs tonight. Usually don't bet on us, but surely worth a nibble at that.
Tifo poles, sausage rolls and a few goals.

A double on a Cork-Sligo and Derry-Bohs draw gets you about 9-1 on Betfair.
