    Internet problem...

Any techies able to help with a problem - trying to get into facebook this last couple of days, but the homepage won't load. I'm using firefox on a MacBook and the loading bar goes a little bit and down the bottom left it says 'transferring data from static.ak.fbcdn.net ...' but it never loads....

Tried using other web browsers but it's still the same - anyone got a quick fix?

fbcdn.net is a Content Delivery Network, probably used to deliver ads. First step would be to try clearing your cache and your cookies.

Sadly tried that but no dice - have been googling all weekend, but can't seem to find a simple solution at all!

          Here's a suggestion from a Mac forum.
I'd suggest checking your firewall security options. Sometimes one of those is to blame for a website not working right (when a site needs pop-ups or cookies, etc. to work properly.) Turn off your firewall, then try loading facebook.

System Preferences --> Security --> Firewall Tab --> "Allow all incoming connections"
This will obviously have security implications, but at least you know if it works that you have a firewall related problem.

I had a similar issue previously on Windows and had to change proxy server to get around it.
