Avoid Ryanair credit card charges

I was asked about this in current affairs so I thought I would elaborate on it in here so it wouldn’t get lost in the middle of the unemployment thread.

As you know Ryanair charge 5 euro per person per flight to book using a credit card. So a return flight for 2 will already cost you 20euro before you even start booking.

Here is how to avoid it.

Visit www.entropay.com
Here you can create a virtual credit card that can be topped up ( similar to phone credit) from your own personal credit card/debit card or bank account.
YOU MUST SET UP THE ACCOUNT IN STERLING OR IT WONT WORK
When it asks you for your own currency choose sterling I know I’m repeating myself but you would be surprised the amount of people I have told that have then set up the account in Euro and complain to me that it doesn’t work!!!!
Fund you card with the amount you need to book the flights.
Go to Ryan air and book your flights
When it comes to paying for the flight choose VISA ELECTRON from the card type drop down menu .
Enter the info from you virtual card ( card number, cvv number, expiry date)
Enter card holders name as ENTROPAY USER

Click purchase.

That’s it simple !! I recently book a return flight to Liverpool for 2 people for 4 euro so paying 20euro on a credit card charge seemed outlandish.

Is there any fees associated with setting up/maintaining this virtual card? I see a load fee of 4.95%, anything else?

I did this a few weeks ago, there is no other fee that I have seen.

It can be a considerable saving when fares aer low, when you are booking multiple flights or when there is a large group of you travelling. If the fair is higher the 5% loading charge may be bigger than the 5 euro per flight per seat credit card charge.

The thing about a credit card though is it is extra purchase insurance if anything goes pear shaped

you could always buy ryanair vouchers and use them. need to do some calculations and thinking about it though, as they only come in fixed amounts, but if it suits, its a way of avoiding any credit card charges.

I was just about to say that, someone only told me that the other day, no charges for buying Ryanair vouchers online and no extra charges to use them for payment. Obviously the fixed amount is the issue.

I looked at this and they come in blocks of e25 and no change is given if your flight was 28 you would have to use 2 vouchers or pay the credit card charges also the person named on the voucher must equal the person flying worth looking into depending on price of flight.

yeah only worth it if the price of your flight is betwen 41 euro and 50 euro and so on.
